its not braking sensor i don't know exactly but yes bike shutdowns if it falls or slides. it won't work if you bang your R15 in a Truck ....

Yes it is called Banking Sensor, which works as per the angle of bike from the road, after a certain angle which is very much the falling angle, the bike shuts down on its own

          • It has been exactly 11 days that I had booked R15. But, not any signs of good news. There are other colors available except Red! But, since, I dreamed riding the R15, I can't imagine riding on other colors. How can I maintain more patience?
Being Yamaha lover, this kind of situation really embarrasses me. Why Yamaha India Motors in not exporting Red color?

it can't be braking sensor then also try pressing your brake to fullest it wont shutdown and if a person slides or falls without pressing brake then it wont shutdown no it will...its the angle sensor your right at a certain angle it shutdowns.

i wonder too much leaning can switch off R15 at insane speeds

All our bikes have vibes, so don't worry about it unless it is too harsh.
The SVC should be able to fix the vibes (if very high), but if they are unable to do so, do let us know where the vibes come from & other details, and we will try to help..

Regarding top-speeds, don't worry. Your bike seems alright to me.. Not all the R15s have the same power output, and have slight variations due to different run-in methods, fuel used, engine oil, air-filter condition etc.. To get maximum performance, you will have to shift as close to the red-line as possible.. Do that & let us know..
                Hope this helps.
Do you mean R15 is inherently a vibey machine? I had heard R15 was as refined as a Honda. Is it false then? Does not the R15 also match Honda in refinement? Other owners, please opine.

                  • Had a drag between 3 bikes yesterday.
                    TVS Apache 180 - 1 rider
                    Bajaj Avenger 200 - 1 rider
                    R15 - 1 rider(me) + 1 pillion
All riders are of similar weight 55-60 Kgs

R15 went to 120 on the odo(didnt go further with 2 riders), and it beat both the bikes in the race.
Initially TVS took the lead, but R15 caught it soon. The pull was very nice after 5K rpm, none of the bike could catch it, even i slowed down it a bit and let the other bikes move ahead, i still could catch them in no time.
By that time Apache was struggling on 110 and was not going further. (After the race the Apache rider had an excuse that his helmet started to flew with the wind, otherwise he could touch 140 )
Avenger managed to come closer to 120.

                    Winner - R15, Loser - TVS Apache 180

Yea, as his tagline says,''Your biggest critic is your biggest fan''

But is it a drag where you have a pillion? Is it a drag where you slow down to wait for your opponents? Is it a drag with no specific length of travel? I'm more prone to calling it just a race

                            Ride safe.

I think you are a naive to compare bikes,in the manner u have....chk the specs of both the bikes(RTR 180 n R15)......they are approx. same..except RTR 180 is 6kgs more than r15.....R15 has one advantage in terms of power is its top speed is approx.135kmph...where as RTR 180 approx. 125kmph....

Otherwise in 1/4 mile drag...I can bet they wont be world apart of each other....

And besides the people with whom you raced..are you sure they shift good ! ! !

                              and a RTR 180 struggling at 110kmph....You kidding me ! ! !....I ride a RTR 180...I know what it attains ! ! !...
