Thanks dual_discOriginally posted by dual disc 200 View PostWow..! Insanely brilliant story cum experience of about a Street/ Drag Race that too with pillion. Way to go....mate..!
For your information, I never risk anyone's life including mine while riding a bike. I ride very slow and safe in city. The road where we raced is Outer ring road in Hyderabad, which connects city to airport. Its 8 lane highway, and u hardly see any vehicle on it. Even if u ride/drive 150+ on this road, u will be safe.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View Post
@Vikas: Did you get your bravery medal for risking your and others life with this BRAVE effort? Or did you just get a winners medal?
Yes ZeNash! u can say it a race.Originally posted by ZeNashB View Post
Is it a drag with no specific length of travel? I'm more prone to calling it just a race
.
I am no expert in comparing bikes, nor i tested Apache's high speed myself.Originally posted by pritish View PostI think you are a naive to compare bikes,in the manner u have....chk the specs of both the bikes(RTR 180 n R15)......they are approx. same..except RTR 180 is 6kgs more than r15.....R15 has one advantage in terms of power is its top speed is approx.135kmph...where as RTR 180 approx. 125kmph....
Otherwise in 1/4 mile drag...I can bet they wont be world apart of each other....
And besides the people with whom you raced..are you sure they shift good ! ! !
and a RTR 180 struggling at 110kmph....You kidding me ! ! !....I ride a RTR 180...I know what it attains ! ! !...
I just wanted to mention what i experienced in that race.
BTW - Adding to the point RTR 180 is 6 Kg heavier - RTR 180 has 30 CC more than R15; And at the time of race, R15 was 50 Kg heavier than RTR 180 (with two riders). R15 and RTR 180 may be similar in power, but u already mentioned that R15 top speed is much better than RTR 180, and its pull after 5K is much much better than any other bike in country (excluding baby ninja here), That is the reason i could catch and beat the other two bikes two times in the same race.
Sure! I am.Originally posted by chicane1879 View PostExcuse him guys, he is a YAMAHA Fan!!
Really, i tried 3-4 times but i could achieve 136 maximum without pillion, and that too after crouching.Originally posted by masterman View PostDude my Apache 150 touches 110 if taken to maximum and I touched 140 (on odo) with a pillion in R15..Last edited by Vikas02; 04-21-2011, 11:44 AM.

For your Information 2 wheelers are banned on the ORR about which you are talking about. I think you have not checked the signboards put all through out the ring road.Originally posted by Vikas02 View PostThanks dual_disc

First of all CC are not the sole parameters to judge power, even if i get a 100 cc bike,I can derive power of some 17-18 bhp(increased Volumetric efficiency) out of it and with a bit of high tourque I can beat a R15 hands down...Originally posted by Vikas02 View PostBTW - Adding to the point RTR 180 is 6 Kg heavier - RTR 180 has 30 CC more tahn R15; And at the time of race, R15 was 50 Kg heavier than RTR 180 (with two riders). Second, ride a RTR 180.and then compare the pull, its marginal.i have rode a R15...It was smooth and gear shifts were like butter, but i didnt find the pull anything more than RTR 180 after 5k.
Follow some racing to know what all parameters are involved in a racing, before you judge your/anybody's potential.Thats why I asked you earlier,do your fellow racers shift good?Nothing feels better than to gear up and burn some rubber ! ! !

They should increase the price of R15 by another 50K
.
Damn!! This is the reason you see bikes totalled in the Service center and a teen standing near it with a huge white bandage wrapped across his hands.
I really wouldnt want to drag another bike into this post but i couldnt resist. P220 is another bike which production should be stopped or price increased. Damn posers everywhere
who get their bikes and make life miserable for other road users. Too much power in the hands of untrained people.
i do not mean any disrespect to decent riders. Its just that i have been wanting to say this and burst out today. Sorry if i had hurt any owners centiments.Last edited by zerotosixty; 04-21-2011, 12:16 PM.

Hey guys don't start a brand war here. we all know which is better and which is not .Drag races are not discussed they are done and results clear all confusions. go out and have a drag R15 vs RTR 180 and clear your feelings.Originally posted by pritish View PostFirst of all CC are not the sole parameters to judge power, even if i get a 100 cc bike,I can derive power of some 17-18 bhp(increased Volumetric efficiency) out of it and with a bit of high tourque I can beat a R15 hands down...

and yes drag on clear road with no traffic don't risk other's lives. instead go on track where you can unleash both machines without fear of traffic

but increasing price or stopping production would not be a solution. by this decent riders will also suffer. We xbhpians pledge to wear helmet while riding

i have not said them to Drag in markets an open strech with no people early morning 4-5 am can be safe enough. instead i suggested them to go on track and check whole capabilities of their machines. we here in north don't have any track like chennai so what you want us to make a new racing track or drag strips?Originally posted by pritish View PostPlease use the multi quote option

and what is the fun of buying big machines like R15/p220 etc which can easily touch 100+ mark [keep aside SBK's for now] on road . but 65 km/hr is the speed limit for two wheelers, on highway maX 80km/hr even on national highways so aren't we ride our bike at insane speeds there and risk others and our lives?
leave everybody haven't you rode your machine above 80km/hr? if yes then excuse me you are DUMB and INSANE riding at killing speeds. govt set some rules you should also follow it and ride below 80.
Always see inside you before using words such as DUMB or INSANE.We xbhpians pledge to wear helmet while riding
