Try riding it around 100kmph for first 20-30 km and then down shift and start red lining in from lower gears. This might help.

          1. after the 1st service, i managed to attain 117 on the speedo with a pillion.
I read some where in the forum regarding the tappets.....but as the bike was new, i thought that the engine might take some time to open.

          2. now after the second service, i managed a meager 113 on the speedo with a pillion., i downshifted to 5th gear & pulled the bike till 9x rpm approx i.e 115 kmph. then again the 6th gear didnt even managed to add a single kmph on the speedo.

what could be the problem??? i even got the tappets checked during the second service..
          thanks.
Maybe your friend is not aerodynamic enough... Aerodynamics affect the R15 a lot. Try it for yourself. While you're doing around a 125 solo, just raise your head slightly out of the bubble or stick your elbow out. Immediately 5-6kmph will drop off... So ensure both of you are tucked in, and redline in each gear. Make sure:
          1) The filter is clean, engine breathing porperly.
          2) The engine's warmed enough.
          3) The tire pressures are ideal.
          You get the point?? :D

            • Guys....

I am facing some problem with the front wheel although i am not sure what exactly could be the reason. From the past few weeks, i get the feeling the front wheel is wobbling. Its not too much when i ride at a speed of 50+ but when i initially start the bike i can make out the speedo setting wobble.

As far as i know, i have not riden the bike into any pot holes at high speeds and the front tyre is brand new. i even checked the air pressure and i have the feeling that there is a leak.

Before i go to any service centres, i just wan to do a pre check up so see what exactly could be the issue. please suggest.

                    • I think you must get the steering bearings checked&greased.

@All: How many of you have got this done? According to the manual the steering bearings&rear suspension both are supposed to be greased at the 12K service, but no SVC does it, since to grease the suspension the chain cover, et.all need to be removed.
I tried to make them grease the steering bearings last Saturday at my 7th service. They pulled the front wheel out, but no matter how hard they tried, the bush in between the bearing didn't come out. After hitting it hard with a screwdriver some 5-6 times, they gave up saying its too tight&exerting too much pressure may end up causing play in the bearing! So we just greased it from the outside&refitted.

I meant airfilter. A dirty arifilter is like having a blocked nose. The bike isn't being able to breathe properly.

Check all that, and also make sure the chain is cleaned, lubed and the slack is correct. Tight chains also reduce speed by causing too much friction.

I'd suggest one more thing. Check the valve. This just happened with me yesterday. I thought my steering ball racer has finally given in (it was damaged in previous crashes) because the bike felt very weird, the steering was at times too swift, and at times too heavy. Plus when I let go of the handlebars, the bike started rolling to the right. After propping it on the main stand I realized everything was ok, it was the valve. The valve was leaking air. I temporarily put a valve cap from my mom's scooter & sealed it with wax. Its holding pressure now. Will get it replaced soon.

                              • Can anybody please suggest me good tyres for the R15 as i am unable to get stock tires. I want a slightly bigger tire but it should be light and doesnot affect the performance, handling, etc.
