  • ^^^The top speed is always affected by many factor's such as weight, tyre pressure, Wind, crouch etc but still only 113 kmph is way less than normal.
If tappets are checked then Try to max out every gear while staying contineous in upshifting.

How much do you and your pillion weigh ?

With a total weight of almost 180kgs (me + pillion) I could hit 123 on my R15 (riding into the wind that too). My brother and his friend (weigh a lot lesser) hit 133kmph. How fast does it go when you ride solo?

        • R15 Limited Edition to be launched in Feb'10

Talking about plans for the year 2010, Mr. Tsuji, said, “We plan to expand our network to 2000 touch points in 2010 with a sales target of 3 Lakhs. Moreover, the company will continue to focus on the 150cc+ segment to achieve a target of 25 % share by the end of year. While we will be further consolidating our position in premium category with the launch of R15 Limited white color edition in February, commuting segment will also be revamped.”

This is extract of the press release from the Yamaha-Motor India Wesite. This surely suggests that the LE version will be launched in Feb'10 and not immediately.

hey just googled and found that white and red is available in the R series range.
I have posted the same message in the Auto Expo thread too.
The white alloys really look stupid. The R6 and R125 has black alloys and look much much better.

But why a John Abraham look a like????

Unicorn concept by HMSI also has same colour scheme...Japan colours, I guess!!!

            • to be honest..i'm not all that disappointed..!
i love the R15 the way it is..and the roumrs about having fatter rear tyres and all..didnt make me happy..coz the R15 tyres were made for a purpose..and it fully serves its purpose..!
fatter tyres would have undoubtedly reduced the performance...although..split seats and led tail lamps could have been an option..!

Agree with you 100%. In the Expo 2008 when R15 was showcased, it came with a tyre hugger as well.
The addition of these 3 features would have made it look great.

agreed...but a good fatter tyre doesn't neccesarily degrade the performance
& looks after all are subjective, but with these changes the bike would definitely "look" complete

exactly...the white alloys looks a bit overdone.
i would anyday go for the racing blue or midnight black rather than this colour..!

BTW..from this year onwards..are the R15 engines going to be manufactured locally..?
i had read about it somewhere..is it true..?

Even if a fatter tyre is not there but they could've at least worked on for a better headlight section and LED tail light section to minimize the load on battery. The tyre even in its stock condition is damn good.
But still that's R15 for us. We got to enjoy the ride.!!!

Even, i have the same problem buddy. With me and my friend as pillion(combined weight will not exceed 130kgs) the bike refuses to cross 108, but for singles it does till 142kmph. I dont know the reason. Before a month i was easily doing 126 with the same pillion!!!
