  • guys help! i had my bike serviced recently (2nd free service) and i have not even driven 10-20 kms but a noise of some sort has cropped up. Whenever i go around 30 km/hr and twist the accelerator i get a squech squech sound but the sound completely stops if i dont twist the accelerator ! i dont think its gear box problem because i have revved it in neutral , and also i dont get that sound when doing below 30km/hr in first gear/second/third gear but i get that sound irrespective of the gear when going around 30 km/hr .

is it the chain.?( looks clean after the service.!),is it the gear box.? or is it the suspension.?

ps:i dont get that sound even at 70 km/hr if i don't twist the accelerator, i get it only when i tap on the power!

Probably the chain sound (lube). Just rip the bike properly once, ride >100 on some highway, sound should settle down.

thankyou! Very much for ur correction.

BTW now that we've got concrete info about No rear changes for our R15..is anyone still interested in speaking about the KRP thingy of getting the rear tidy without compromising on performance? Well I'm sure interested in getting it done for mine..but 13K's a lotta money..so if there are more ppl we can sure bargain for a great deal with KRP..any comments?
Till they dont touch the tail light its no use investing 13k.
Just look at that puny piece of white plastic bolted on rear, that sure had to be pampered, because its the culprit of so called ''bad rear look'' statment.

                        • Instead of gettin confused, Give it a try first..
Clutch and de-clutch for 10-15 times before starting the bike for first time then start the engine and let it Idle for 15-20 secs.
For first 1.5 km's dont let the RPM meter climb above 3.5k mark.
Voila! After that ur free to do anything with ur bike..
Do all this stuff and then inform us about improvments.

                          @Amulu10
That thing used to happen to my old Santro Xing.
Reason - the Rotator belt and the accelerator cable.

So get your accelerator cable checked, maybe it would help!

                          Thank You!

I think once the tappets set in, you need to check them every 6k, but for the first few k kms, try and get it done with every service, for optimum performance.

Also as pointed out above, the filter should be changed when changing the grade of oil.
Thanks guys! I got the service done..
Left the air filter untouched, as it looks good as of now. Will get oil filter replaced at 12k service, with a move to semi-synth..
The tappets aren't loose yet, so even the mechanic told to leave it untouched (yeah, i know, he will always say that ).. Will get it checked & adjusted at the 12k service..
Overall, the bike is very smooth again, like it is after every service
Did a 100km highway r2g yest, albeit at sane speeds, but really enjoyed the feel of the bike.. Since the highway was a superb stretch, did also test top-whack upto 4th gear, & saw no drop in it (109 kmph in 4th).. So seems like 'all izz well'

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Nice...So your next service will be a major one, with more part replacements...air filter+oil filter+sparkplug+semi-synth oil all at once.
If you can make them grease the steering bearings&rear suspension it'll be good. I suggest you get that done at the 12K service, so free labor.
Here I paid Rs.350 labor for my 7th or rather 1st paid service&he did everything I asked him to, when I was standing beside him, but when I went out for a smoke asking him to tighten the fairing nuts he gave it a pass!

hey! strange.. i get the same sound underneath me.. when i rev my bike.. or once its above 5k rpm i get the same sound somewhere from the gear lever.. may be small sprocket.. the sound is something like something hit constantly at one revolution (a toy kids use to play.. where a stick is adjusted near the drum so that it makes sound after one complete rotation)... any suggestion or ideas...?! I haven't lubed my chain.. since i brought it and it was 2 months ago...
