Glad you could lay your hands on one (or rather 2)!
Where did you manage to get them from? & how many KMs did the older one last?

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

          This is news to me!

For me, the problem started when I told the SS guys to change the fork oil on my 10K service. After that I never got the optimum setting for the fork. It's either too tight or too loose. Some time it's very rigid kike riding a cycle and at times on hard front braking, I could hear Tuk Tuk sound coming from the fork..
Now last week when I took it my Mechanic, he says the Coneset needs to changed.. I believe the fork issue has given way to the cone set issue...

            • My problem started after the mechs removed the front wheel to verify the wheel bearing. It has not been proper ever since. Now if I leave the handle the bike behaves as if the rim is bent. The cone set was replaced in warranty by YAMAHA and a YAMAHA service advisor supervised the work, but still no use. Taking potholes, I get a dak-dak metal hitting metal sound and taking turns feels tough and weird. Will have to open the bike and verify if it is cone set/fork/t-stem/tire or the rim itself!

@Karthik: Dude, u cud have got one extra pair for me! Is it possible to do it now? And what happened to the air filter?

Luck you! I am hunting for the rubber since couple of months and still not able to find them. BTW how much did they cost?

I love to buy a R15, since I have moderate back pain thought of exploring possibilities to something like that

                  • ^^ it would be difficult to do, but possible, because you would have to fabricate a handlebar mount on the top plate.

Other guys with cone issues - Im suspecting front bearing wear, or else they overtightened the front axle and other components during servicing, not following torque limits, and face it, no one does. But maybe it sticks out more on this bike than anything else, looking at its state of tune and design??

                          • Purchase R15 2008 Engine in 2009

                            Guys,

I have purchased YZF-R15 just 1 week ago but when I saw the engine made sticker, it shown that YZF-R15 engine 2008 model. Even in my insurance policy doc, it written 2008 model.

Is this wrong? Has showroom guys cheated me to sold old version model?

Please advice me what should I do?
