Sounds exciting!! Can you pls post some pics of your friend's bike (with the modified front)? Would love to have a look at it, and apply it if it looks as good as it sounds!!

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

I was also wondering if the SVC would accept my bike for 1st service (using 1st service coupon only), say if I give it at 1100KMs & 28 days (the service interval in the manual being 30 days or 1000KMs, whichever is earlier)? (you may find this query of mine a bit stupid, but pls do reply )

Your wish is my command sir!

Just as I typed the last reply, I went downstairs, and took off my fairings. Had the twin headlight assembly in my hand (but unfortunately got a camera phone after I put the headlights back on). About the Unique number, I guess its like a customer ID, which we can use for registering for Yamaha Ride Tech challenge events and for the R15 championship....
          Some pictures:

          My mini R6 () :

The front mask. Note the 5 main screws.

This screw in the center is very difficult to reach, and open. Once you manage to open this, I'd recommend not taking it out, as its a real pain to put it back:

The 3 beam adjusting screws, for reference, Note that the bottom-right screw does not seem do do much. The top right and bottom left does most of the adjusting:

So a list of screws & nuts to be opened for removal of front mask:
          1) Mirror nuts (2x2)
          2) Transparent visor screws (2x2)
          2) 5 screws (shown in the mask picture).
          3) The allen bolts that hold the small plastic thing that covers the headlight assembly (the one that comes under the handlebars. You will need to open this to access the main center screw. (3x2).

            • @svjhonda: hey bro your pics are indeed of gr8 help, if you could just give me some detail on how to separate the the transparent plastic cover of the headlight with that of the reflectors, it seems that they have been glued as in most of the cases similar to car assemblies. Actually i have made a couple of angel eyes(using acrylic tube and LED's) for my Babe R-15 and I have been racking my head for getting them inside the headlight assemble in front of the reflectors I hope you are getting me. ant help regardingg the same shall be apreciated. its just that i just dont wanna scratch my babe so m afraid of getting them done by not so standard methods like the oven and all. still must say your pics showed how a mini R^6 has been dilivered to me in disguise. thanx anyways..

Still under prototyping..will tell you all once I finalize something But no, it's definitely not P220's :P

The oven technique is not sub-standard dude, that's how they open headlamps out there...by heating! You can as well try using a hot-air gun, or worse still a hair dryer around the edges to soften the adhesive that sticks it, and then pry it away carefully.

BTW, can you post pics of the acrylic tubes that you used and how you fixed the LEDs and post info abour where you got the tubes from?

hey guys..just saw this interesting idea of R6 looking R15...you just have to cut off a part of the plastic visor with a saw-blade..
Frankly dont know how it will fit in, but if done carefully it can be done without disturbing the mounting points and screws.
                    Please see picture-
This is just a recommendation..just did it with MS-paint, to show area to be cut off...
If anybody thinks it can be don, all the best...if not please ignore...

                    • @All: If any of you has written a mail to Yamaha higher authorities, please give me their email ids. I need to write to them to issue me a spare key.
I had lost one of my keys a few months back&wrote a physical letter to them through my SVC. No response to that. Then, I wrote an email&I found that the mail was rerouted to my SVC itself.
I have spoken to the Area Sales Manager also&he is suggesting me to replace the entire lock set assembly.
The question is not of the lock set cost, but why should I change the lock set, when the company is supposed to have a facility for providing spare keys?
If you check your manual, it is written towards the ending, 'Please record your key no.in the box given below&use it to order a spare key'

I think Aparajith/Satyen/TrueBlueBikeR/HydBiker can give me some contacts.

Even I am considering switching to Projectors. The stock headlights are useless if the other vehicle has a better lights. But only if my pocket allows.

                            • I feel it is safer to change the entire lock set if u had lost your key outside ur house

What if some keen observer picked up your lost keys?

                              • Updates on my 3K kms old baby!

Got my 2nd Service done at 2k kms....

Bike has gone a lil harsh. Performs good as before. Returns me a average of 48KM/L, It was around 42km/l after the first service and 36km/l before the first service. This bike opens up as the days go. I used to wonder how these guys get 40km/l whereas i get around 35km/l before the first service but now i understand. I'm proud of my babe.

No issues faced, No engine probs, Disk pad looks like brand new.

got the headlight beam adjusted yesterday. Its good now.

                                Thanks,
