I would recommend "Bangalore wheels",..they are a pro-showroom,in the sense the mechanics there are highly qualified as they service the R1 and MT01,..lso they lube my chain free whenever i take it to them,..also their service is way better than anyone else,..only drawback,..they often exceed time taken for servicing by 1 to 2 hours,...Originally posted by tibby View PostThere is a thin line between adventure and madness,...God must have made me myopic for a reason!!!

Pls do not use synthetic/semi-synthetic oil,..for flushing the oil after the first 50 kms,use yamalube grade SG(or whichever the cheaper one is) and then after you can flush once again at 5000-600 kms,if you are willing to afford you can replace the oil filter during the first flushing.Originally posted by y2kluvsuu View PostUntil Now, I have got TWO POSITIVE reponses for the Moto Man's method, waiting to entertain more of them...
Hey, thanks Dude!! Well, can you please name a few Engine Oils that you have used for the first 1500Kms as stated by Moto Man ?
As he recommends Petroleum Engine Oil for this part of Run-In, could you please suggest some very common brands for the same ?

Thats un heard of even in other cities/towns, I'm sure..
Do they do it for free for everyone, or you're 1 of the lucky few customers receiving the benefit
BTW, can I get my bike serviced in my presence, at Bangalore Wheels?

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

So how did it feel being lost out by a bike that Yamaha launched a zillion years agoOriginally posted by animeher View PostToday morning in Pune, a terrible sounding Blue R15 overtook me. I was surprised to hear that R15 sounding like a two stroker (that too an ill one). from the back, the parts were seen bit rattling (the tail lamp and the whole rear section). When I got near the bike and saw the speedo, I was shocked to see FZ speedometer!! Then I realized it is a modified 2 stroker (may be RX 100/135, didn't identify by the sound) to become an R15. Though the body kit was perfectly fitted (of course with all the rattling pieces), I wonder how would be the performance, as couldn't see whether the owner fit the fan in front. If not, then wonder how the air cooled two stroke engine would behave in a tightly packed R15's body.
The R15 chassis is a dream come true for a lot of modders, there is another Rx100 upped to 135 here which is being made for drags which sits on the R15 chassis. however he isnt covering the entire body and just doing some basic body mods!
If it was him or any one else, do get us pics and the bike specs man! It would do us only good!Originally posted by Adway View PostWas it a thin wiry kid, who was riding it?
If it was, I can give you his contact details, if you want to see that bike up close

Ha ha! its cool man! And Wear a lid!!!Originally posted by Adway View PostHad been to Bombay this weekend (again). Thanks a lot to Satyen, that he had a nice close look at my bike, rode it, advised me to adjust tappet clearance (which I would never have thought of otherwise) & told me that everything else is OK.
That certainly puts my mind to rest! Thanks Satyen!
The usual culprits:Originally posted by pulsar_flame View Postwhen i am hitting around 8,9,10 rpms i am facing this rattling and vibs in my bike ! should i change my oil or any suggestions pls ? oil was changed only 600 kms before !
- Your engine mounts, tighten em
- Your Chain, Clean em and Lube em
- Your Sprocket, Show it to the SVC
Go in that order and you should be good! How much KMs have you clocked and what oil are you currently using?
You answered your own question, I love the R15 for its handling, hate it for its sluggishness. I was expecting more from Yamaha.Originally posted by DASCO View PostI end up generalizing because I am not an R15 owner..just a spectator of this thread as of now.
You do own one don't you?
Wonder how you enjoy it?You don't sound too happy with the R15s performance
.
Yeah thats exactly the point..
we want low and mid range due to our constant daily bike using life style..
R15 sadly is too of a much top end power bike.
bikes like the R15 are too track oriented and our daily office rides never take us anywhere near a racetrack like road..unless you find one for yourself.

I got my third service done at BW. I didn't want an oil change (as it had been 150 Kms since I last changed it) and I asked them not to lube the chain.
They lubed the chain by mistake and I wasn't charged for it.
My final bill - 0

Well i did purchase my bike there and i do make a point to build a very good rapport with the managers and service techs (part of my job necessity-marketing), so may be ,..just may be i am one of the few lucky guys to get lube jobs for free,..well i have taken my bike 4 times other than services( to buy spares, lubes, accessories and to remove punctures) and every time my bike was cleaned and lubed for free,...and also yes they do allow you to watch the bike being serviced, although the sc is a little cramped and you may not be very comfortable..but for anyone in Bangalore i would recommend to try them once and judge for yourselves ,..do not take my absolute word on this matter.Originally posted by tibby View PostThanks!

Oh! So I guess the good rapport does it for you..Originally posted by sveetvenom View PostWell i did purchase my bike there and i do make a point to build a very good rapport with the managers and service techs (part of my job necessity-marketing), so may be ,..just may be i am one of the few lucky guys to get lube jobs for free,..well i have taken my bike 4 times other than services( to buy spares, lubes, accessories and to remove punctures) and every time my bike was cleaned and lubed for free,...and also yes they do allow you to watch the bike being serviced, although the sc is a little cramped and you may not be very comfortable..but for anyone in Bangalore i would recommend to try them once and judge for yourselves ,..do not take my absolute word on this matter.
Cuz it would be a not so wise business idea to lube every bike for free!!! Why kill a plump revenue earning stream you see..
Even I was going to buy my bike from Bangalore Wheels, but then I went to Perfect Riders, and they seemed more nicer, & courteous.. So ended up purchasing mine from there..
Will get my 1st service done at Perfect Riders itself.. Its quite spacious, and they have a customers' lounge (small but comfy room).. They have glass walls, & you can watch your bike being serviced from there itself..
Thanks for recommending Bangalore Wheels..
I will surely try BW, if Perfect do an imperfect job..

Do let me know about your experience at Pacer..
Its for your 2nd service I guess..
Generally I would've emphasized on staying there and, monitor them servicing my bike but unfortunately I had college that day and as the Yamaha chaps are known for being strict about service dates,I just went ahead with it.
Oh yeah I agree, before purchasing the bike they were much better than the others. Their showroom guys are not all that bad, their service guys are the ones who're a bunch of jokers!

perfect riders do a good job,...no doubt,..i prefer to give my service there as well since it is nearer to my home,if you can take a day off to see your bike being serviced,...nothing like it.Originally posted by tibby View PostOh! So I guess the good rapport does it for you..

I will be going to the circus next Saturday (for 1st service)..

kimikid seems to have had an unpleasant experience with them though..
So, I think its got a lot to do with the presence factor..
I will make it a point to go on Saturdays for my bike's service. . I'm usually free then.. The 1st half of the day should be sufficient to get the bike ready..
