Actually, the first time the handle was also over tight, then SS guy loosened and it became extra loose (it was frustrating). Finally, now its almost like the stock one. Also the front brakes are very tight now, feels like new ones. I tried out Sarvajit's bike yesterday and I could see the same behavior as mine. Only difference being that my bike pulls more, now probably its coz my front brakes are very tight for now. I guess everything is fine. Its just my mind. I'll get used to it. To be on the safer side, I'll get my forks tightened in a couple of weeks.

    Thanks for the inputs guys.
Oh, maybe that is the reason for the jerking when I jammed only the front brakes real hard!
Anyways, it feels better than before though.

    • Thanks for the info guys. Actually what happened was that I missed the 1st service by 5 - 6 days cause I was out of station & they insisted that I cannot use the 1st coupon and I had to use the second coupon for the 1st and the 3rd for the 2nd etc: I think I'll make the second service a paid service & then get on with the proper routine.

I got the RC book yesterday. I must say it looks rather flimsy & the printed stuff is really light. I'm sure that the ink on it is going to fade in no time. Can anything be done ?

Like I posted yest, the bike is a bit hesitant when I roll off the throttle. It is due to chain getting dirty while travelling isnt it ?

@tibby - I didnt have great experiences with Yamaha's showroom guys before buying the bike either. Panache Motors & Orion are the closest to my place. Went to Panache for a test ride & they gave me a 90 second test ride and claimed that they will not give the bike for longer test rides on weekends ! I was like WTF ?! Insisted on a longer ride & then after it was done the guy who was told to explain the finance options to me thought that searching for some other customers papers was more important. Again WTF ?! After I patiently told them that I could go straight to Orion and get it there they explained the options to me. If this was their attitude before buying the bike I could imagine what their attitude would be after buying it.
@truebluebiker - cant see the pics you have sent cause Im in office. Sounds bad from what I read. Let us know what happens man.

Not sure about Panache, but Pacer (Infantry Road) is weird too. I had gone there for a test ride 20 days back. They told me that DEMO R15 was away, & they would call me once its available (in 2 days time). They haven't called me yet!
But I took the FZ test ride from them, for Time Pass!
I went into their SS, & extracted a lot of info on the bike from them though! Saw a few stripped down R15s. Nice fun it was..

@Sarvajit & niel.jericho: At Bangalore, a black & white photocopy of the RC Book is sufficient for keeping in the bike.
Regarding the original RC Book: yeah, keep it safely at home. The toner they use for printing the RC Book is definitely very light. But don't worry, its not like the ATM slips.. The ink will stay on..

          • R15 in hands

Hey guys..I'm new to this forum as I got my R15 just 5days back...Hey have some doubts...Its has been raining here badly for the last two days...I lubricated my chain today but again had to go out in rain... Will it be a problem if the chain gets wet... And today i've reached around 280km and I had filled 10 litres of petrol...but suddenly the last fuel indicator bar started blinking...and now its showing two bars...why does this happen anything wrong???

I too won an invitation, got a call from Yamaha head office,Delhi 10 days back asking me to collect my "t-shirt" and "invitation" from Pearl Yamaha in 10 days. And then, I got an SMS few days later saying I got closer to winning the grand prize by winning an invitation which I need to collect from SS in few days. God knows what, gotta collect it soon lol!
Just got a call from Pearl Yamaha. The lady introed herself and said "Sir, have you got any messages from Yamaha about anything?" And I replied saying I got something asking me to collect some prize from from my dealer, and then she replies daying "the invitation is like you can get your elders or someone else here and take a test drive of any bike you want".

Now, I wonder why I'll want to take a test drive of a bike when I've already bought the R15 from them, plus why the heck an invitation to an owner? And who needs invitations to just get a test-drive? Or is it something like I can get a test drive of even the R1/MT01??

What an abrupt end to all the speculation..
I think you must must take the test ride invite seriously. Like you said, what other Yamaha bike would one want to try after owning an R15! So insist on test riding the R1/MT01! (I bet they won't have a test bike of this variant). Yamaha will probably have to send one around across all dealerships in India, if they're that serious about test-riding any Yamaha bike (available in India)..

Kool dude! Use that invitation so that some friend of yours get test-ride before he buys R15.

hey welcome man congrats on your r15 its not good to go out in the rain when you just got your chain lubricated the lubrication on the chain will be washed away by water to some extent and the chain will have a weird sound according to my mechanic.the fuel indicator dots will blink cause of the reloading capacity it happens to every r15 dont worry theres nothing wrong if i fill just 2 litres of petrol i get 2 -3 dots and after riding it for about 5kms i get 1 dot and then f- (minus) theres nothing to worry ride safe enjoy

Too bad to even think off. Good that you raised it up with Yamaha guys. If they do not respond soon enough pls be prepared to take it up higher.

DL is not a big prob as we know the procedure to get a duplicate DL. But the Smart card can be an issue. Any idea how much would it cost to get the new one again?

We talked to an agent from RTO and he said he'll take care of the procedure at RTO but it would cost around 1200 bucks. We just have to sign on the Form no28/26 and rest will be taken care of.

                      Is the amount ok ?

And bout the old card..can there b any prob if that old lost card falls into some smart A$$'s hands? I dont think one can do much with it.. but still doubtful. What do u say guys?
The process to get a duplicate RC is similar to that of a duplicate DL. Either way, you need to file a police complaint and get a copy of that with the application. If you go straight to RTA office it costs less than half that amount. These agents make the police complaint and other stuff for you and charge high.

Thing is, why would a friend of mine need to take a test drive of the SS's test-bike when he can as well get a better ride of my own bike in my presence?? Kudos to yamaha for having such great thinking minds! :P

                          • Fitted HIDs yesterday

Hi guys! There is a bit of trouble since I've fitted HIDs yesterday on my bike. They don't fit the way previous lights used to fit. I see some part of the bulb while sitting in rider's seat. Also, on Upper-Dipper, I hear noise. It's kind of a sound that we can make by hitting 2 empty coke bottles on each other.

Please help me! What should I do now? I'm really worried here. I've invested some amount in those HIDs & don't want to waste it. On the other hand, I don't know, what could it be hitting. I'm afraid it might hurt the bike.
                            And God said, "Let there be light" and there was HID Kit. And God saw that the light was good;
