IIRC the fuel injector self check runs only if the ignition is turned off and turned on again.
Did u get it from Orion Motors?

I know about the check thingy when the key is turned into ignition mode. Was just wondering bout the usage of the engine kill switch & its advisability for frequent use!
Any clue on the Ignition circuit Cut-off system thats mentioned in the manual.
I got mine from Perfect Riders. Orion works out really far for me!

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

cloth???looks odd!!
Think the engine kill switch is only for emergencies...the key is the best for switching off the engine...Originally posted by tibby View PostThere you go! Have done 57 KMs on the ODO as of this morning!

and please take out that piece of cleaning cloth from the visor..not what is expected from a Yamaha R series owner.

Regarding the cloth, I have now kept it below the seat! Had taken the pic the day I got the bike. So just kept it in the visor as a stop-gap arrangement. I can't do away with the cloth, & will need it on the bike, more importantly because the monsoons are almost here!
Or maybe I can get the visor tinted (& keep the cloth there itself)!
But I actually love the current look transparent look of the visor! So the cloth remains under the seat..

not under the seat...think so
Not too sure about that Tibby..I have had a couple of friends who were advised not to keep any loose materials under seat (was told during delivery time) because there is the inlet for the air filter somewhere there which should not get blocked.Originally posted by tibby View PostThanks for the info on the engine kill switch bro!

^^^Things kept in the under seat compartment do not move out of it once the seat is in place. Even those in the gaps in the side panels don't. Just make sure there is nothing placed near the battery which is right at the nose of the air chamber and that the side panels are not stuffed with things.

Missed that earlier. I am with you on this. Engine kill switch is there for use every time without cutting off the complete electrical system with the key.Originally posted by onlinesatish View PostMe dont think so....whats the point of having a engine kill swtich if we dont use it? i guess there was an argument in orkut R15 community regarding the engine kill swtich.....someone was able to clarify thru a mail to yamaha!

BTW, the First Aid kit is kept under the seat & it is very loose (its very small compared to the compartment). So keeping a cloth doesn't seem to be an issue to me (unless you consider that its flammable).

I guess you're absolutely right. The First Aid Kit is lying loosely under the seat! So it prolly remains fixed there once the seat is locked in place!Originally posted by HydBiker View PostMissed that earlier. I am with you on this. BTW, is there any other place for the FA Kit. Mine is placed in the tiny square like place below the seat?

There wud b no use of the switch if it was harmful..!!Thanks guys! I will use the engine kill switch now on! Actually, I was circumspect on using it frequently because the Manual is mum on its frequent usage, and moreover I don't want to harm the engine during run-in (that is, if the engine kill is not advisable).Originally posted by kauria View PostReplacing enging kill switch is way cheaper then a hole key unit. So bang bang with the red button. I always do so in my RTR, actually they are meant to do so. Some honda owners always complain about the missing EK Switch.
@All: Got the hard gear-lever issue resolved! Went to the SVC this morning. The mechanic removed some nut below the gear-lever & re-fixed it. Its smoother now!
& regarding the finding neutral issue I had (& still have), guess it'll take some getting used to. Its my 1st 1-down, X-up bike. My previous bike had an all-down gearshift!!
So patience should pay!
