Pathetic Customer Service: Suggestions/Help appreciated!
Posted on 07-20-2009, at 06:36 PM.Originally posted by digislayer View PostFinally, time has come for the expiry of my bike's Fork-cone set! The steering was acting extremely crazy since today morning. Went to the SS and they agreed to replace it on warranty..asked me to come back in 15days.
Link: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/250176-post5637.html
So, I kept checking with the SS guys(Pearl Yamaha-Kondapur) for the arrival of the cone-set, and just about 4 days back they said they got the parts and asked me to get my vehicle back. So, I went there yesterday and gave my vehicle at around 10:00AM cos I didn't want my work to be delayed on excuses of having too many pending vehicles at the workshop. I was told that the work will be done by afternoon, so I decided to wait at the workshop only(as they have a customer's lounge there). I waited until a little past afternoon and they then said it might be 4:00PM by the time the work is done(They didn't even start the work uptil then). Since it was only about 2 hours or so more for 4:00PM, I decided to wait again, and they then postponed the delivery time again to 6:30PM. So I now decided I'll go out for some time and return by then. I went out with a friend of mine, ate something and hung around a bit and came back by 6:00 PM, only to find that they didn't yet start the work on my bike!
They said a part(the bottom cone) was missing. It was one of the 5 required parts according to them. So they said they cannot do the work and asked me to come back the next day(today)..the manager there also told me that He already sent a person to get that missing part and that person must be on his way back, but it's already too late so they'll do the work next day(today). But I have coll next day and I can't bunk it(they have a very strict attendence rule here),..so the manager asked me to come immediately after coll at around 4:30PM. He said they'll use the same job card too.
So, I went directly from coll to the workshop at around 4:45 PM today. And, they took my bike and started work on it at around 6:00PM, opened the front and all. And then, I noticed the mechanic there was putting back the old bottom cone(the part which was missing previous day) only back into the bike while replacing parts. So I immediately stopped the mech and asked the manager about this, and he says "The person got the part yesterday but they misplaced it somewhere, and the person is not here". And they skipped writing this part's details even in the indent(The indent had only 4 part details listed out of the 5 required), but failed to inform me prior to starting the work. I just didn't agree to having an old part(the bottom cone was the most damaged one, and they wanted to just sand it to smoothen it and then put it back in). So, they put back the same old parts back into my bike even today, and send me back(It was 7:40PM by then). And when I try to talk it out with the manager, he just refuses to talk and says he doesn't want to argue, and that he'll tell me when the part arrives. They don't even want to apologize for anything that happened. He even says that they'll be busy the next two days due to the Yamaha's race event(And this is something I wanted to participate in too, but unfortunately can't anymore cos of my bike's problem), and hence can't do my work even in the next 2 days.
Now, can I call this as pathetic customer service? Hope Yamaha is listening. Just wanted people to know about this incident..
@svjhonda: Sorry man, you might now know what took me away from xBhp so long, "roaming around Pearl Yamaha"!
EDIT: My bike was purchased on 30th July 2008, so I might as well be denied of warranty now..but I made my claim on 20th June 2009, more a month before the expiry of my warranty(and I think the R15 has a warranty of 2 years! Correct me if I'm wrong).Last edited by digislayer; 08-29-2009, 01:02 AM.Sunny.

Not actually!Originally posted by pulsar_flame View Post@shanz and gaurav thanks for your valuable advice, is there any thing to clean our fuel injection ? because does it have any dust particals like our carburattors ? any suggestions on this ?
What u really have to take care is of the dust in Chain and Rear disc..
Coz both of these make weared sound etc..
If u really want to take care of the FI then ask the WELL TRAINED service center guy to check it once!

either there is some serious problem with your bike or the way you are riding it mate!!
I would advise u to check with some friend who really knows to ride well if the way ur riding the bike is right. and if it is alright then check with a SVC if ur bike is alright.
and if i got u correct ur bike is brand new right?THE MEAN MACHINE!!!

Can u tell us ur bike riding history i meant when u learned to ride and kinda stuff like which bike u owned bfore??Originally posted by humanoutlaw View PostOH oops xD i asked the Svc guys they said its gone only 91km its the gear change timing sound its new bike something they mumbled and some other guy said its the jerk for not holding clutch confusing, i asked them for the manual over and over annd over they wont budge they will give after 1week

*Use proper clutch.!
*shift on right Rpm..
*At any rate DO NOT GO ABOVE 50KMPH for the first 500kms and beyond 70kmph for the first 1000kmph,..
*and stay in accurate gears..dont jumble them..
No way ur new mill should drink 6lts Of juice for 90kms and no way it should give u jerks or the gear box should make noice!
One who rides this machine for the first 2 kms feels the initial two things that are..
*its butter smooth
*And handles extreamly well..
Dude DNT MIND but its a humble request PLZ have the MANUAL,READ IT CAREFULLY THEN ONLY RIDE coz it seems to me that thrs some point on which ur doing somthing wrong with ur mill..
Ideally ur bike should run approx 240kms for those 6ltrs of Petrol..
At an avrage of 40km/litre..Last edited by Shanz; 08-29-2009, 09:53 AM.

well i used to ride gearless before tried splendor this that karizma but always got abused tht i stall the bike at signals no one bothered to tell me to hold clutch during signal or hump...
now i took it for a ride few min back i didnt hear tht thud i was pressing clutch as hard as i can and i would rev up to 4k rpm then change to 2nd gear and 3rd gear keeping a minimum speed for tht gear around 32 45kmph i need to work on tht clutch release when i release clutch i can hear it and jerks <.< im guessing its my fault or the gear box is getting used to my shifting..when the sound comes
and tbh riding this bike is like ....smoooth and easy ? if thts proper to say didnt think it would be so nibble in turning it will take a while to get use to the clearance and to lean while turning xD i will ask one of my friend to check today thanks for the tip and hopefully i will get it by monday =\sigpic

there used to be a run in period for bikes before but the bikes which are sold now come with pre-tuned engines... riding slow and safe for the first few thousand kms is always good but its not compulsory now. I rode my new R15 which had done only 280 Kms in the Yamaha Racing challenge to speeds upto 118 + and haven't faced any problems since then.. also get a decent fuel average of 35-40 even now.
@ humanoutlaw.. There seems to be a problem with your riding style.. use proper clutch, correct rpm and don;t let the engine knock.. check the manuals for the correct gear change ration and it will solve your problem. As for your 91 kms in 6 ltrs problem, get the bikes air filter cleaned from a proper svc guy and don't rev the bike more than required. Letting the bike in idle with a running motor at signal etc can consume more fuel so follow the basic rules and have a great ride.

P.S even after all the above issues rectified you face the same problem then there is a serious problem with the machine.. may be a defective bike from the company.. fight with them and get it replaced.
