@ Josh, I went to the Yamaha Dealer in delhi(Rajouri Garden) the guys had a pamphlet which had all these details.
The Muffler Kit which comprises of ,I guess, 3 items was for 16K(exclusive taxes)
The Engine Kit,which includes about 7-8 items(including that of muffler kit) is for 31K(exclusive taxes)
and the body kit, which contains all the break components(about 5-6 in total) and the rear set foot pegs is for 20K(exclusive taxes)
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

The Pilot lamps are 5w 12v ones..
Its better you send a pic of the existing LEDs across to your friend, coz I have seen atleast 2 diff holders for the same wattage ones..
For instance, the LEDs for the RTR, have a diff holder from that of the R15..

PS: What's special about LEDs from the US? You'll get good LEDs easily here..

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

@R-series, so do u mean the whole job costs around 67k + taxes ??
i read in the BIKE mag about the kits but am not sure if the full kit is to be put or you can choose the particular mods you want. I also called up now the dealer in Chennai for the same and he says the whole kit would cost around 19k + taxes. Am totally confused now..

If you want everything that Yamaha provides..that includes

                (engine kit-which includes muffler Kit) - 30 K
(Body kit-which includes brake components and rear sets) - 20K

so total somewhat 51K, this is what came out in the media as well..
Honestly I wont be aware of whats in Chennai...but it certainly cant be 19K. That might be only for the Muffler Kit.

i too thought so.. lets wait and see what the final price comes to.. btw if it is costing around 50k then i don't think it would be worth to invest so much money just to increase the top speed do a 0-60 in a few seconds lesser than the stock R15. its way too expensive.

I agree, thats why they have introduced them for closed circuit use only. If I had a professional team racing on the indian turf, i might think about it...but spending half the amount of your bike to increase some percentage of its power doesnt seem to be wise advise of road bikes

                        • hummm very correct.. also even if u get the whole ecu kit and all installed the Yamaha guys will not let you ride in their Racing Challenge with other stock bikes. even if they have a different segment for the modified R15s i doubt there would be enough participants who have spent so much on their bikes.

                              Plus its STREET ILLEGAL..
that meant it can ONLY and ONLY be used on CLOSED CIRCUITS.!
Plus u will have to show special paper approval from the RACE CIRCUIT ORG. [i doubted that we are even having standard race circuits in India] to the YAMAHA then only ur eligible to buy the KIT [so that u cannot anyway use it on roads]..
Plus with the Muffler KIT ur bike will sound like 2 Bullets with TORN MUFFLERS,making you a sure attraction for traffic police [with that sound they can sniff u out from a Kilometer]!!!
The only thing which will do fine is d body Kit comprising the Brake parts etc!

So are we still goin to buy the KIT?
Hell Ya!! Coz it wuld make the bike's performance closer to 250Ninja..
But only after i had ridden the bike more than 40k kms, till that tym the KiT would be way cheaper than it is now!!

Well the kit is for closed ciruit use. Dont know what you mean by standard race tracks but yes, we do have racing tracks down south. Even with the complete performance kit...there is no way it can come close to the Ninja 250 at this stage as the kitted R15 goes near 150 - 153 kmph on the speedo...while the stock 250 Ninja does 110mph = 176kmph(provided that we get the same 250 Ninja thats on the Kwasaki website and not any downgraded version).

So unless its being used in competion against other 150cc bikes...i dont think there is any use of it being used in city conditions.
