Hello all..

Finally (i) a wait of 8 months, (ii) going through various forums (reading the whole R15 thread twice on xbhp apart from other comparison posts), (iii)seeking advice from friends and (iv)a teaser ride, is going to culminate in my booking this bike next week.

I will be going for the Midnight Black color (new one), as I was initially planning to go for the old black/red (but discontinued now it seems). New red is awesome, but not to my taste... yellow also looks funky but again I wanted something subtler so settling for black. And blue,well.. its getting a bit too common now (no offense to anyone, none to be taken actually )

I had gone to Venkatesha motors in Somajiguda, Hyderabad, yesterday, to inquire about the pricing etc., and Mr. Sharad from the showroom quoted an ex-showroom price of 98,000 INR, and on-the-road price of 1,10,300 INR. I had initially visited a Yamaha showroom nearer to my home (Patny motors) but I didn't like the attitude of the people there, they weren't even offering test rides of R15 and Fazer, only FZ16.

Minimum booking amount at this showroom for the R15 is 5,000 INR. I will be taking the bike on finance, due to 2 reasons (my brother will be going to a flying academy soon to start his course, quite a distance from my place, it will be easier for him to commute if he has a bike soon ie. my old one, and 2nd, the most important reason: I CANT WAIT) I know some people don't really approve of the loans n all. But samjha karo yaaron.. I feel like telling you all because your approval does mean something to me!

Ok, more updates (and pictures) when I get the bike delivered. I wanna thank all the informative and helpful R15 owners who post experiences here. You have been instrumental in my final decision.

Boht bol liya.. next post with pics. Mr. Sharad said minimum 7 days for delivery, after booking. Maximum it may extend till September first week. I'll cross my fingers and hope for the best, will be booking tomorrow or by tuesday evening at the latest.

@TnT: Congrats on your decision! I also purchased my bike from Venkatesha&never went there after 1st Service. As mentioned above, you can get your bike serviced at any Yamaha outlet all over India with the free service coupons.
Where do you live? Why don't you check with Pearl Yamaha (+91-40-32490099) also? I highly recommend their service.

Zma gave me pleasant riding experience and I put zma on commuter series not on racing series.
Both are good, zma can't compete the sporty look and riding posture of R15, whereas , in terms of city riding/touring xma give better feel of comfort. The low gear torque is very awesome in zma as compared to R15, but after getting on track R15 Hold the "THRONE".

R15 is not comparable to "Apache160/180" " "P220" "ZMA" in terms of track racing due to its cornering/inclination and extremely awesome track performance

Yes! you are right.. i already waited for 4 months.. and all i got was some sticker job. (good though) a good horn which no longer is mounted on the radiator.. a new type Radiator... rim stripe... So I am happy... can't wait single day now.. still a week to get mine.. coz the bike may arrive in 2-3 days over here..and Plus now they are offering festive discount scratch card with minimum 5K NC sure shot discount upto 1 lacs... (i wish i was lucky)

According to my knowledge its just the old radiator with few more blades and no horn mounting on it..

Asked about diwali surprise but , didnt get any positive response - So better keep the hypes low. :P

yes! something like that... well I don't think I would try to redefine the fine engineering art... I would be happy with the stock tyres.. But I expect few itchy comments that would be made from my frens and office colleagues regarding the size...
