Hello all..

Finally (i) a wait of 8 months, (ii) going through various forums (reading the whole R15 thread twice on xbhp apart from other comparison posts), (iii)seeking advice from friends and (iv)a teaser ride, is going to culminate in my booking this bike next week.

I will be going for the Midnight Black color (new one), as I was initially planning to go for the old black/red (but discontinued now it seems). New red is awesome, but not to my taste... yellow also looks funky but again I wanted something subtler so settling for black. And blue,well.. its getting a bit too common now (no offense to anyone, none to be taken actually )

I had gone to Venkatesha motors in Somajiguda, Hyderabad, yesterday, to inquire about the pricing etc., and Mr. Sharad from the showroom quoted an ex-showroom price of 98,000 INR, and on-the-road price of 1,10,300 INR. I had initially visited a Yamaha showroom nearer to my home (Patny motors) but I didn't like the attitude of the people there, they weren't even offering test rides of R15 and Fazer, only FZ16.

Minimum booking amount at this showroom for the R15 is 5,000 INR. I will be taking the bike on finance, due to 2 reasons (my brother will be going to a flying academy soon to start his course, quite a distance from my place, it will be easier for him to commute if he has a bike soon ie. my old one, and 2nd, the most important reason: I CANT WAIT) I know some people don't really approve of the loans n all. But samjha karo yaaron.. I feel like telling you all because your approval does mean something to me!

Ok, more updates (and pictures) when I get the bike delivered. I wanna thank all the informative and helpful R15 owners who post experiences here. You have been instrumental in my final decision.

Boht bol liya.. next post with pics. Mr. Sharad said minimum 7 days for delivery, after booking. Maximum it may extend till September first week. I'll cross my fingers and hope for the best, will be booking tomorrow or by tuesday evening at the latest.

I can go to malad after my college if it's really good..

Congarts on your new bike ^^ and all the sleepless nights you are gonna get thinking of the bike , even i took a while to book r15 after reading all the posts here its been a month i booked still no bike i even stopped thinking of the bike

It seems we both gonna get our babes on pretty same time... Went to the showroom over here.. the sales manager told me that this friday there is an Auto Expo and there they will be launching Fazer and new R15 graphics (Finally) So it will take another week to settle for it... So pretty much same... I am still confused what to do with the tyres though coz they are offering me either IRC or MRF Zapper 120/90 tyres at back for my front or rear stock one... Well I too have decided on Midnight black.. coz black makes the statement about bikes.. so good luck to both.. but plz do post its pics soon even before u get it by taking its snaps from the showroom.. I really want to see its all view...

Check other showrooms as well....they might have stock to deliver it very quickly!

if I buy the bike from some showroom in hyderabad (as in not near secunderabad), then on Service dates i have to schedule the rest of the day around the trip to the showroom!

Hi guys,

I saw a small bottle of wet Yamaha chain lube being used by the SS guys here. The Chain is first applied with the wet lube (approx 700 bucks), somewhat like foam, followed by our big bottle dry type lube.

Is anybody else also using the same two lubes? Can both the lubes be used together, is it the correct method?

I have not yet seen this Wet type lube. I'm using the dry type only!
