          • Recently i'd been on a 1000kms+ ride, after that my clutch seems to be screwed up! Th clutch started to show a lot of play after the initial 400kms. I tried adjusting it (read tightening it) and the clutch cable gave way,so i'd to replace it with the spare I was carrying. Ever since, whenever I configure the clutch to get activated at half clutch, there is the lousy play that comes in. At three-fourth clutch configuration the play goes away. But I personally prefer the half clutch configuration. Can anyone tell me what's gone wrong and why I can't set it to half clutch without the play coming in,that was how my bike was when I bought it and also for a good 3 months. What's changed now?

hmm, I've just realized that it is the R15s original front sproket itself, cost 360.
              Rear sproket is 250
              O-Ring Chain is 2100

Apparently all the servicing forms are sent to Yamaha India online so they can keep track of the services across India. Only prob the dude faced was that he missed his service (date wise) which was during the time his new manul was sent to him. So your dealer should be the best person to help you get a new manual.
Thanks you're right, the new manual is issued on written request with mention of your bike's registration details to the dealer.

Agree, the fact is that they don't have the right automatic tools to speedup the process of dismatling the bike.(forget the MotoGP tools but atleast automatic tools from this decade would do!)
If they did all the work mentioned on the service leaf they wouldn't complete more than 3 R15's in a day per mechanic.
They are also lacking skilled labour(forget advanced, atleast intermediate knowledge of a 4strokes would do).

Re the chainlube for the O-Ring, I feel motul is better than the OKS451.
Though the OKS451 last longer than Motul, its not as effective.

IMO the Yamalube dry type powdery white spray is the best, though 3 times the cost of Motul/OKS. I have written about it earlier, please read.

Yup, I know, but then no one in bangalore has it, AFAIK.

                  OKS451 is Rs.320
Isn't Ylube around Rs.1500 and tax wherever its available?

For the money we save from buying Ylube we could change the chain every 3k kms, chain cost 1000!

The Performance Exhaust was available at Pearl Yamaha 2 days ago. Costs abt Rs 18K.

I guess you are better off if you stick to Malad.

The Philips bulbs are not available that easily. They are mostly smuggled ones or imported ones. Whereas the Osram bulbs are officially available through dealer network. That's the problem. Even if you find one you would have to thing twice whether it is really original or not.

The SC guys should know where exactly to set the thread to set the correct play. Had the same problem twice and the mechanic set that right in a minute.

I think the rear sprocket costs about Rs 250 and the chain costs about Rs 2100.

Yes, if you lost a manual pls give a letter to the Yamaha SC guys or directly to the Regional office and a new manual would be issues to you. I lost my manual once and did this but found it back before I got a new one. So, called up and informed them not to send a new one for me.

Even I find that the OKS lasts longer than the Motul. But I couldn't feel difference in effectiveness. May be I didn't notice it so well.

                    • I called Malad Factory Shop for the 1st servicing today. We have to book aur servicing date 10-15 days in advance they said. That guy gave me 1st september as the date despite of requesting a lot for an earlier date. I wanted it early because I've already done 960KMs and till that time it would have crossed the 1000Km barrier. The service guy told me that if you break the KM barrier and not do the servicing in time, you loose the warranty. He also said that if I have crossed 1000KMs and I still want to keep my warranty safe, I'll have to make it a paid service and pay 150 bucks and they'll consider it as my first service. Now what does that mean?

Also, can anyone tell me how is the service of Thomsun Automotive?
I got this information on the internet.. "Thomsun auto has been a recognised name in the mumbai city for yamaha service centre for the last 20 years, with original parts from yamaha for all models .thomsun auto has their own showroom selling all the yamaha models.thomsun auto is placed at andheri west in the city of mumbai."

I called them and he gave me a date for tomorrow at 10 o clock. He said I'll get my bike by 1 o clock and I can sit there when they work on my bike.
                      But are they good enough?

                      • I read this thread now everyday and thanks to you guys I solved my discbrake noise problem. I have the naked Indonesian version of the R15, the Vixion. I already made a lot modification, bigger wheels with Bridgestone tyres, freeflow exhaust, new paint, etc. Oh and I used the 170cc Big Bore Kit for Vixion/R15, its fast really fast, but you need a good mechanic to change the settings, and I didnt find one, so I changed it back to my original 150cc. But now I am waiting for the Daytona kit. Especially the ECU. If somebody wants to sell it on ebay, I am your first buyer! They don't sell it here in Indonesia.

                        • @Gaurav, request abt the SC details in Mumbai thread and you will get the correct answer.

@vixicination, let us see by when those kits would be available to us... one of us can probably help you procure the kit here and ship it across.

by the way hows the performance owing to the bridgestones front and back and 170cc engine, though i think your braking must be nothing less than phenomenal. and hows the dynamics of the bike with all those things put together. have you even modded the swing arm. By the way how much it costs for the 170cc kit, whats included in it and what does it eventually produce
