Its exactly at the place where the bend pipe meets the end can. U will visually see a slight bulge there. Cut the exhaust there. Remove the honeycomb structure and weld it back. Thats it!! U will see that ur bike revs a lot more free. No bhp increase or anything!! Not worth the hassle IMHO....Originally posted by ashes View PostLast edited by Aparajith; 10-08-2009, 12:26 PM.Democracy is when 2 wolves and a sheep meet to decide who is for dinner. Ok.. thanks for the info. But the fact that it revs better seems to suggest a increase in power, even if it is marginal! No?Originally posted by santoosh View Posttried and done on navnish's bike .
Just revs better. Not any increase in bhp.
Main thing is redn in weight.

Revs without restriction doesn exactly mean its making more power .
It gets there with much lesser effort and with ease .
Even if there is an inc in power , its hardly noticeable.
u need to adjust the AFR after getting the cat off. Not just ride away .
Ex- u tune ur carb to rev better , Does it mean u increased the BHP?sigpic

When you richen the AFR to optimal value, the engine does produce slightly more power. Yeah it will be marginal no doubt. That is why I said up to a bhp is possible depending on how restrictive the original system is.Originally posted by santoosh View PostRevs without restriction doesn exactly mean its making more power .

Anyways, if the power is same, acceleration would be same too, ditto for rev-ability! Simple physics.Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

One of my friend is also facing some noise problems from radiator or engine (was unable to figure out

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

here is some bad news for every body who calls custom exhausts dalda dudda. you might have already seen my bikes video with the automech exhaust. i installed it at a time when my last free service was due,ie when the air filter was all clogged up. even with a clogged filter the exhaust showed some performance gains though not upto what i expected. now i got my filter cleaned and put the bike to some hard tests and surprisingly the performance of the bike higher up the power band has noticiably and satisfactorily improved.no doubt.i am not talking about 1 hp boost and stuff as joel says.after all it is an exhaust not a nitro boost.the 0-60 timing has marginally improved. the 0-100 timings has some satisfactory improvements.the bike wakes up at 5500 rpm.from 6500-as high as 9000 rpm i get some serious kicks. BTWthe exhaust only costed me 4800 bucks.not 9000-10000 bucks as joel always points out when he talks about exhausts.right now i am satisfied with what i have. in the future i plan to buy an exhaust from joel and see how it works.one more thing-the bottom end of the bike has deteriorated.below 4000 rpm the engine seems to be out of breath.but that is not a problem as i seldom ride below 3500 .

What Joel said was simple, that there are many so called performance tuned exhausts suddenly... where most of it is just another free flow exhaust
If you are happy with the exhaust, then nice... be happy... dont flame any one...! The price and all was just an indicative figure!!!
Coolios!! I am so happy for you brother

You explained it all in your post. Fiddle with the AFR ratio. If the exhaust is not too bad, you will regain somewhat of the bottom end.Originally posted by akhilmuraleedhar View Posthere is some bad news for every body who calls custom exhausts dalda dudda. you might have already seen my bikes video with the automech exhaust. i installed it at a time when my last free service was due,ie when the air filter was all clogged up. even with a clogged filter the exhaust showed some performance gains though not upto what i expected. now i got my filter cleaned and put the bike to some hard tests and surprisingly the performance of the bike higher up the power band has noticiably and satisfactorily improved.no doubt.i am not talking about 1 hp boost and stuff as joel says.after all it is an exhaust not a nitro boost.the 0-60 timing has marginally improved. the 0-100 timings has some satisfactory improvements.the bike wakes up at 5500 rpm.from 6500-as high as 9000 rpm i get some serious kicks.
