i too had the same problem. Just feel the disc surface and check whether there are any under cuts in the inner circle of the disc area where the pads grip. My rotor was ground and put back. I have noticed the same problem in other 15s too. Again the uneven wear in developing. Can some other owners check and report ?Originally posted by TnT View PostYea I will do that, thanks guys.
I noticed yesterday that there are fine grooves in my front disk. No grooves on the rear one. Is this normal or is it because I have ridden the bike with the dust particles in the brakes..?

putting in 1400 for a chain lube according to me is wasting the money. A new chain cost around 2k. lube will get consumed in 6k.Instead Use normal heavy weight oil. You can still extract the entire chain life wit normal heavy weight oil. I feel my motul lube is just jazz. After a few hundred k run, its becomes so sticky.Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostBest quality is Yamalube powdery white dry type at Rs.1400 a bottle, not for sale. If you can lay your hands on it, its best.
Next best options are Motul&OKS, priced at about Rs.450&350 respectively.
For cleaning Motul Chain Clean. Be very very careful if you intend cleaning on your own, people have lost fingers.
I suggest buy your own can of lube&take it to the SVC for cleaning when you feel it is very muddy/stone particles are in the chain. Else lube it on your own once in 500kms.or after wash/rains.

I agree that it is expensive, but I am already using the lube since 7K kms.&it will go on for longer. The dry type quality makes it withstand rains&washes too, Motul&others are gone with a single wash.Originally posted by GP_freak View Postputting in 1400 for a chain lube according to me is wasting the money. Last time I checked, it came for 1500kms.with 3 rainy rides&3 washes.
Does any other lube last that long?
I know it is expensive for some but I am very satisfied&I will get it again if I can lay my hands on it.
Coming to the question-what is 'normal heavy weight oil'?Quench my thirst with gasoline!

@Sarvajit - I believe R15s chain wil average around 15 to 18k. In this period even if you use the yam lube, you might have to use more than one can, which is more than the cost of the chain itself. That is why i called it costly. Just calculate how much you would have spent on maintaining a 2k chain over a period of 18k km.
But 1.5 k km with single lubing is a great feat. Heavy weight oil is nothin but a 60 or 90w gear oil. You can also use normal engine oil. I was using valvoline semi synthetic for my chain. But offer frequent lubing. We can have these kind of spray lubes for touring for ease of carrying and in city its better to use normal oil. Its very easy on pockets.
Now about chain clean, i needed to empty one full can to clean a single chain. Thats 450 bucks. Its not friendly on pockets. Can follow alternate methods.

Agree bro. I don't have that much of time for cleaning, lubing etc.so I prefer the method which lasts longest! Btw I don't clean that often, only when the bike goes for SVC its cleaned with Motul Chain Clean which they have.Originally posted by GP_freak View Post@Sarvajit - I believe R15s chain wil average around 15 to 18k. If time is money, i agree with you whole heartedly. Else, get a tooth brush, some kerosene or diesel and just brush off. You end up with smelly black hands after half hour along with a not so clean looking chain. He he.Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostAgree bro. Note : kerosene is a carcinogen. Take care.

I got a rear tyre from Ambal motors chennai for 1800. Thats the only place I guess which takes orders for r15 tyres.. but still front tyre is nowhere to be found"Never make the mistake of thinking someone is holding you up;that's racing, and you're holding yourself up." - Keith
