  • Guys, my bike's running great except for one thing, the front pads are making a little noise when the wheel is in motion. I put the bike on main stand yesterday (rx 100 ka) and rotated the front wheel with my hand. Some sound like 'ssssssss' still comes. Is it because of the rains or something? Or will it clear up on its own? I guess I should open them up and see or get the yamaha ppl to do it.

it probably is just carbon deposits on the plug, which happens by riding at very low rpm in a high gear. or perhaps it IS burnt like Shanz said..

Its just the chain, get it cleaned&lubed well, including the front sprocket.

Wash the area around the disc with pressurized water&soap if possible. It is small dust granules which are making the sound.

i changed the oil & checked the oil level ,but prob is that one side of dipstick it is showing more than max level & other side it is normal.i checked it many times ,still same result, which side shd i see.(used 1.2 lts yamalube)
also the gearshifting (downshifts frm 5 - 1 ) is not working
Please read the procedure in the manual on how to check the oil level. You need to unscrew it, wipe it clean, then insert it again without screwing it in. This will give you the accurate reading, should be between the L&F marks.

Best quality is Yamalube powdery white dry type at Rs.1400 a bottle, not for sale. If you can lay your hands on it, its best.
Next best options are Motul&OKS, priced at about Rs.450&350 respectively.
For cleaning Motul Chain Clean. Be very very careful if you intend cleaning on your own, people have lost fingers.
I suggest buy your own can of lube&take it to the SVC for cleaning when you feel it is very muddy/stone particles are in the chain. Else lube it on your own once in 500kms.or after wash/rains.
