The problem is with a small bush behind the clutch bell. What I was told multiple times by company trained mechanic & the company person as well is that generally, if the bike is used for high RPM's (which is true in maximum cases) this problem would come up at about 6-7K KMs. Replace it and it would come back in another 6-7K KMs. So, since it doesn't harm anything else, why open up the clutch case???Originally posted by biker boy View PostWhat's this cluth bell and how to fix this problem
?
I do know one xBhpian's bike that developed a lot of vibes due to this and that was corrected. I didn't want mine to be touched as it is not very bothering.
1st Service Costs:Originally posted by amulu10 View Postguys i have given the bike for first service .i asked the guy how much would it cost? he says it might cost as much as 1000 bucks !
.Is this normal.? i thought free service meant 200-300 bucks at max !also some ass*** scratched my side panel sticker.i guess the sticker is not available separately and i was quoted 700rs for the entire panel! i read in this thread somewhere that it is 350 rs !
1) Engine oil - Yamalube API SL = Rs 220
2) Oil Filter = Rs 430
3) Chain lube = Rs 50 - 100
4) Coolant top-up (if needed) = ~Rs 50. Generally this is needed at 2nd service.
Total should be around = Rs 700 to 800 max.
Second service should not cost more than Rs 350 as you don't need to change the Oil Filter then.
The side panel costs Rs 570. The Side inner panel costs about Rs 350 but since you said it had a sticker it should be the outer panel.
Most Bajaj ProBiking SC's use OKS 450 Chain Lube Spray. Some reported to use the SAE 90 Gear oil. This is a very debated topic. Technicals apart, I wouldn't suggest greasing as you will not be able to apply it evenly.Originally posted by arpitchhipi View PostHelo evr1. My self Dr. Arpit.
Recntly i visit bajaj ss. One ss guy told me dat they just do cleang n greasin (Instead a o ring seal safe oil) Or a gear oil on the p220 chain. Is it rite?
(As my old pulsar mech. there suggest me the same for my r15.)
Smeone tell me where i cn fnd motul lubes in jaipur??

doesn't seem to work for me. I mean, the jerk+sound doesn't get eliminated but they get reduced.Originally posted by biker boy View PostThanks mate, it really hepls to eliminate the morning thuk sound of the first gear.
I always stop my bike in gear and more than half the times I start the bike in 1st gear by holding the clutch. There's still that jerk when I shift it to the first gear but it is definitely lesser when compated to starting the bike in neutral and then shifting to the first.

Your clutch play may be improper. Does the clutch start engaging even if you release the clutch by a small amount? If you have set it like that, the jerk will come.Originally posted by HydBiker View Postdoesn't seem to work for me. I mean, the jerk+sound doesn't get eliminated but they get reduced.

that problem comes now and then and when the clutch play is adjusted it goes away.Originally posted by abhijeet080808 View PostYour clutch play may be improper. Does the clutch start engaging even if you release the clutch by a small amount? If you have set it like that, the jerk will come.
The one we are speaking about is only when cold starting and that too when shifting from Neurtal to 1st.
I switch off the R15 in 1st gear and then park it there. When I start the bike I hold the clutch and start it. After a few seconds I realize that I have to negotiate the bike out of the parking from the gap between my car and the pillars (happens most of the times). I then put it into N and push the bike with my legs. Once out, I shift to 1st gear. I still get the jerk.

If it is not too much, a little jerk is to be expected and is normal.Originally posted by HydBiker View Postthat problem comes now and then and when the clutch play is adjusted it goes away.

@HydBiker: In case you forgot, that xBhpian whose bike developed a lot of clutch vibes&weird sound is me.
They promised to replace the clutch bell&housing but didn't. In the meanwhile I got angry&started showing it on the bike by ripping it.
Surprisingly the sound went away after a few days.
Likewise, even if it comes back I'm not much bothered now.
@biker boy: I like the thud sound-its supposed to be a SBK characteristic!

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.
