@GP_freak..the whole concept of blipping is actually matching the engine revs to the road speed while downshifting...is that right???
In addition to this, from my observation, i find that the gears becomes sticky while downshifting and up shifting when the bike is kept in a very low revs.
(ie), the bike simply refuses to change gears when the revs are very less and hence you need to force a gear change and hence the chlunk noise. I have observed this in other R15s too and also this was acknowledged by other riders.
Could be my views, probably other Owners can tell me their experience. I have an ownership period of just 4.8 k km, where as there are other guys with 20 K+ period of ownership.
Nope, i dont Rev when the bike is cold. But this problem is Omni presentOriginally posted by sheelpriye View Post
understandable when the engine is cold and to shift from 1st to 2nd(when cold)

@GP_freak: The manual says engage clutch rapidly&disengage slowly while shifting gears. Did you do this during the run-in atleast?
I remember shifting up at around 3.5-4K RPM for the first couple of hundred kms. I haven't faced this problem, though now I upshift at about 4.5-5.5K RPM.
My feeling is: If you make the gearbox used to shifting at high RPMs during the run-in, subsequently it will not take gears earlier. However, the reverse is not necessarily true.
If you are facing too much of a problem, get the clutch opened&grind the plates a bit, or replace if worn out, though I doubt they will wear out so soon.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

In heavy traffic, if the bike is at a very low rpm and i downshift without blipping, the gears tend to feel sticky.Originally posted by GP_freak View PostIn addition to this, from my observation, i find that the gears becomes sticky while downshifting and up shifting when the bike is kept in a very low revs.
For city riding, Upshift at 4.5k rpm and downshift at 2.5k rpm never gives me a problem.

Man, this is a second hand bike. I actually bought this for the track use. Since the tyres are worn out, and the track is occupied for next couple of week, i am making use of this opportunity to ride the bike around townOriginally posted by Sarvajit View Post@GP_freak: The manual says engage clutch rapidly&disengage slowly while shifting gears. I should probably get the gear box adjusted in Service centre.
Also i suppose the problem could be due to engine oil. I am currently running Fully synthetic( castrol power 1 ) for past 800 Km. Not sure whether it will still hold good after the continuous ripping in track

no one revs when the bike is cold i believeOriginally posted by GP_freak View PostNope, i dont Rev when the bike is cold. But this problem is Omni present
when i start and ride her out the gears are changed at ~3500-4000rpm and if i sense them not slotting(2 times out 10 and that too while going from 1st to 2nd) i blip a wee bit so that the gears are engaged smoothly)
^^i just shifted early in all my motorcycles and let the torque do the talking while running-in 'zma being the easiest

@All
"How will you guys classify your bikes as"
I mean to say that whether it is a
1) Good for tour
2) Good to commute
3) Good for Tracks(or Revv. machine)
4) All of the above\all rounder
5) or a machine which is only meant to be owned by a ripper(revv. man)
I asked it because i am considering in the near future, if any, Engine mods. are done to R15 then i would definetly love to put my hands on it.

It's a little harsh on the palms in city traffic (rectified by decent gloves) and always feels ready to burst forward, its a little frustrating in heavy traffic. Gets heated up also if it's not moving but the Fan takes care of that.
It's best for tracks, no competition with any other bike here with similar power output
And it's a ripppppppppppppppper
For engine mods, we have Joel, he just recently came out with his exhausts and modding services for the general xBhp public... so... if you get bored of your R15 u can give it to him and he'll transform it for youLast edited by TnT; 02-10-2010, 08:03 AM.

got some serious problems.vibrations start coming from the speedometer area at around 5000 rpm.this problem has been there for months. each time i take the bike to svc they adjust some nuts and say "done".yesterday they finally opened the entire front and reset it. the problem still persists. they are now saying the vibrations come from inside the speedo and they have no right to open it (as it may void my warranty). i think they are right. the vibrations seem to be coming from inside the speedo.they said they would call me when the engineer from the company comes for his monthly visit to the svc. what to do guys?can i ask the svc guys to uninstall the speedo and send it to the company for repair and then get it back. the vibrations are really irritating and i am not able to enjoy my rides.superbikes are the biggest blunders on indian roads.

take it to yahama n argue with them that it is a faulty part, if it is under warranty ask them to change itOriginally posted by akhilmuraleedhar View Postgot some serious problems.vibrations start coming from the speedometer area at around 5000 rpm.this problem has been there for months. each time i take the bike to svc they adjust some nuts and say "done".yesterday they finally opened the entire front and reset it. the problem still persists. they are now saying the vibrations come from inside the speedo and they have no right to open it (as it may void my warranty). i think they are right. the vibrations seem to be coming from inside the speedo.they said they would call me when the engineer from the company comes for his monthly visit to the svc. what to do guys?can i ask the svc guys to uninstall the speedo and send it to the company for repair and then get it back. the vibrations are really irritating and i am not able to enjoy my rides.
