  • Hey guys. I'm going to change my back tyre from 120-60-17 to 130-60-17(pirelli). Will it fit for r15? Or will it touch the swing arm. I got my tyres today from a guy who told 130 will fit in nicely. And when i got it to my city (trivandrum) my mechanic said it wont fit. he didnt try it. Anyone here used 130 without any modification on the swing arm, please inform me asap, because i want to open the seal and put it on tommorow morning, or else i have to return it tommorow itslf, otherwise the money will be gone.

BTW, i'm having chain sprcoket compaint, so i will be changing it also. So any suggestions for any chain sprocket changes also should be mentioned. Thanks in advance.
It's not what you ride, it's your attitude that counts.

      Congrats dude..

Just check that they give you everything, let them do the Pre Delivery Inspection properly (what I mean is don't hurry them, let them get done with the bike)
See if chain is lubed properly.. Don't forget manual in the SVC ..

      last but not least... controllllll!

Answer's somewhere in thread. But for your ease, as far as I remember, it would fit if you remove the chain cover, or call it a joke on the name of chain cover!

Turn few pages back, u'll see loads of stuff on sprockets, all you need is to find it!

Now the philosphy part () - heck! A tyre change, seriously degrading to 130/60 size? If you dont know then this info will come handy that It would RUIN the performance of R15 and just for the sake of looks you're killing everything on your bike right from acceleration to handling to r15 engine performance!.

Final verdict - never mind! Its your bike, ride it your way. Even without the handle, if you want, who knows!
We are here just to suggest others, so lastly I would again suggest, that this size wont be good for your cute little 'R', rest decision is yours if 'looks' is priority then change the tyre happily, it sure looks steamy hot on R15.

          • hey guys , I saw an R15 with the fz16's rear tyre installed at my last service , he said there were no modifications done ... i was surprised , he also said that the mileage drops by a flat 10kmpl . like shanz has said , the r15 is great as it is , if looks are the priority then by all means go for it ...
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

Congrats!! Its only 3 months that i got mine I can imagine the excitement so here goes..
It's really helpfull to have a third person to accompany you during buying. You'll be too excited to take care of everything...or as in my case to take care of anything!!!(i forgot to take my helmet when i got a call from the dealer) and make sure you locate a good bunk near the showroom to tank her up once you get delivery.
                            1) Note the distance travelled..calculate the distance to the RTO from the showroom..question them if it's more.
                            2) Look at the body and try to locate any scratches. Walk around and look for any anomalies.
                            3) Do NOT install the electronic burgler alarm that they may try to sell you..read in the forums to know why.
                            4) Sweet talk and a small gift, monetary or otherwise, works wonders with the lead mech in the showroom. Take something for him, thank him and ask him for explanations for various things on the bike.
                            5) Check the first aid kit and tool kit under the seat (they'll normally explain this stuff.) Check the chain, mirrors, fairing and ask if the tyre pressures have been adjusted.
                            6) Teflon coating, in my opinion, is OK and can be done before taking delivery of the bike. (Others may have different opinions as this depends on the showroom that you take delivery from so do check on this.)
                            7) Get hold of the user manual and read it for before you sign the receipts.
                            8) Sit on the throne and start her up for the first time, savour the sound for a minute, check if the light, indicators and brake light etc. are working properly.
                            9) Take your sweet bird of freedom out on the road and enjoy your first ride.

                            Cheers,
                            Shr.

My friend took from them and there were a lot of things in a mess!

The paint was chipping off from the front alloy.
Secondly, the part encircled in the pic was missing!!!

After some pushing they agreed to do it for free and that was done after going to the showroom 3-4 times!!!
So just be a little cautious and if someone else is also going with you then it will be good as then you too can check it out better.

And yes congrats for the ride

                              • Thanks for the responses guys.

I would be takin my bike from Lotus yamaha, Ganganagar. I am not too keen on goin for teflon, as my previous bike had it and i did not see any difference.

The guy there says, the smart card would be couriered to my place and it will take 2 months(approx).

So to summarize, i need to check for any scratches, get the chain lubed and check for all the electricals and missing parts too (how do i validate this?)

                                Am i missing something?
