But still, I really enjoyed riding and I think its worth a buy. Suspension and ride quality is simply much better than any other India bike!!!
agree, for Single rider...its has enough or good torque post 3000 on RPM. enough to for city rides and enough for drags

    • Yes, and I forgot to mention that I had pillion, a showroom guy, ofcourse!!! and it pulled really well in each gear as per my experience (I have ridden karizma for more than 4 years). And I found it (R15) fast enough!!!

and I think sometimes some guys try to nail this bike's capabilities too much. I mean, any Indian bike's performance changes noticeably when riding alone and with a pillion, so I dont think it should be any different for R15. I think its a really good buy.

Two situation in which R15 can do 150(Speedo Indicated, remember it has got the highest speedo error.)
        1. Need atleast 5 kms.
        2. Need 1/2 kms slope

Get real Yamaha claims it does 140 on speedo (error of 10kms true 130) and its does at 9.5 kms.. If it had done more then that they would have claimed more right

@amit :- I guess you should see it in person .. and I want my bike to be unique so not putting it online.

Have you taken any exp rider as pillion and asked how it feels..
Here is a quote from my blog.. given by JASIR.. R15 is good for pillions
As I was lazily getting up from the ring of my phone I understood that I was being dragged for a ride for which I had very little time to be prepared about. My bike was not serviced so Manjunath had me pillion his bike till he got a puncture, however, we were lucky enough to get a shop open the wee morning hours to get it fixed and I needed change of bike since Manju was concerned about the reliability of the tire.

Mithun was kind enough to pillion me on his R-15 and I was a bit surprised at the seat of this thing, it was small and wasn't wide like commuter bike, the footrest was high enough to play drums on your knees . That being apart, I was more overwhelmed by the comfort of the seat being a sports bike. We started from 6.30 AM to 5.30 PM and I was on the back of the rider all the time. On a serious tone, the back seat was considered at the time of the designing of the bike, even on a long trip, no back or butt sores, it's like being bike chauffeured the entire trip, it relaxing cool and awesome. Once you have got the comfort zone of the seat, you can actually make an aerodynamic seating with the rider and experience pure speed or cruise (at 90 kmph). There was also a time where we had a slight slip on moss on a road bridge, and another great thing was the foot rest was kept at a right height for me to jump out and get my hands and knees under the bike before it fell on the sides. Unlike the other bikes your foot does lay on the other side way down, it just shrugs at the back of the bike for a quick dismount.

Thanks Mithun for the experience, not only was I in love with the R-15 before but also intensified it since I'm sure that it can give comfort to someone sit behind me.

Hi! If I may venture an opinion, the feline look of the bike is the cause behind this. It startles the dog as it has generally not seen a cat that big and is not in habit of seeing too much R-machines. Instinct tells them to flee & to show some guts at the same time. So, they just stand there...

I have had too many incidents with these stray dogs in our area, providing me with ample opportunities to make observations.

I posted my experiance some days back, saying my bike does not do anything above 9k rpms in 6th gear. It stays constant at 130 kmph. It did 9.5 rpm, 137 kmph on a slope, but once the slope was over, she got back to 9krpm-130 kmph state. I need to go faster.... Can anybody please tell me the exact procedure to get her above 9krpm?

dont know what might be the concern ..cos i took it to 137kmph at 9.5K rpm on a straight..but could pull it further as was approaching traffic.
but try the above suggestion "changing gears at 9k might help"..i honestly dont remember at what rmp i was shifting when i touched that mark.
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Shift before you hit the redline around 10.2K while you testing the bike for the top speed and shift should be quick, so dont hold the full clutch while shifting, use half clutch..

9k shifts are good when you are testing the lap times

The decision making thingy in my head was a Better R15 vs a Better bike.... while both seem impossible for now... I guess a bird in hand is better then two in bush!
