      • Ok, a small ownership report my side.

My bike has completed a total of 10800 Kms. Let me consolidate the list of part and items changed in my bike in the in the last 4800 km after it came under my possession.

        Consumables:

        Parts :

Silencer end cap and cover - Once

        Problems in Performance:
        • Notchy Gear Changes
        • Problems with Upshifts and Downshifts Even when blipped like hell.
        • 90% of the time, when I shift to Second, it ends up in Neutral( Damn, most annoying)
        • Drop in Top in end ( After my stupidity of running the bike completely Dry)

Number services done during 4.8 k ownership period = 4
Tappet adjustment done = none (for the whole 10.8 k period)
Chain tension cam position = 2nd

Mileage: Best 33 and worst of 22

Aesthetic problems: Paint chipping in tank and Grab tails

Rusting problem in externals and internals of tank

Thanks dude. Yeah, i would defiantely follow the run-in very strictly.

Small question regarding gear shifts: The upshifts are smooth but during downshifting, the bike makes a 'Thud' noise. is it common?

I agree..mirrors are very important part of the bike. Please do put them back on your bike and make it a habit of checking the mirrors before switching lanes.Be responsible on road.

It kind of makes a Chluck Chluck noise when you down shift. You can avoid that by blipping when down shifting. This is based on the experience with my R15. Dont know about other bikes

                    try this:

Motorcycle Riding Techniques - Downshifting &"Blipping" the Throttle - Sport Rider

@GP_freak..the whole concept of blipping is actually matching the engine revs to the road speed while downshifting...is that right???

Yes, i agree with Sarvajit. It serves it purpose well and also without mirrors IMO the bike looks a little ugly. The only problem with mirrors though is when going in heavy traffic, we need a little more space.
