it was tested without pillion... The handle looks ok to me though, but will check.. thanks...Originally posted by Thunder View Post^^^
Your handle needs to be Straightened - it should have been slightly edging towards the Right side - which makes you to slide toward right when you leave your Hands....
Have you tested this with a pillion or without a Pillion?

Hey let me know if translucent stickering is possible coz I think for the like we get on car windshield, it has to be made from glass and ours is mere plastic....Originally posted by R-series View PostNo dude...not the opaque one..need the one that we can see through...i mean like car window tints..or the windshield on the Karizma...something of that sort.----------------------------------------------------

Hi Guys,
I'm having very limited technical knowledge about the mechanicals
Just trying to understand a few things from all these threads since I'm buying a R15 in this month.
- What should be the ideal behavior of the radiator fan while in normal running and in heavy city traffic rides? ( I have seen quite a lot of responses/issues with it in these 850 pages thread
)
I never had to worry about it since I've been using Pulsar 150 UG3 which just uses a carb.
- What exactly is the fuel pump noise issue?
- Issues related to tappets. How frequently do we need to set/tight it if I'm right.
I understand that the answers are spread in bits and peaces in these 850 pages
Could any gurus please give the answers in a simple and yet aggregate manner?
Thanks you... appreciate the help!
Saj.

Not tried it yet, but intended to do once the bike has put in about 5000 kms. I got a good look at the kit thought; its workmanship is quality one. I will also look at TBR exhaust system before I take a final call. I was thinking the hotter clam from the kit and TBR exhaut system may also be a good combination.Originally posted by anthonydcruz View PostAnybody here have tried or presently using the Daytona performance kit on their R15's?Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

Ok. Here are the answers in concise manner:Originally posted by sajibabums View PostHi Guys,

The job of the cooling system is to keep the engine running at the right temperature. Quite simply, when more volume of air is required to keep the temperature in the green band the fan starts. That may be at any speed or standing stationary. Just make sure that the Temp light does not come on. If it does on more than couple of occasions, you should get it checked.
As you know the bike has a Fuel Injection system. Such a system requires fuel to be provided at a certain pressure (250 kPa in this case) for the system to work. When you switch on the ignition, the fuel pump will prime it self (hence the wringing sound) and pressurizes the fuel line (there is a pressure regulator). If there is anything wrong with any component of the system, the Engine Warning Light (Orange) will light up.Originally posted by sajibabums View Post

As per Yamaha's recommended schedule valve/ rocker arm clearance should be checked every 6000 kms, and adjusted if required. However, depending upon your riding style it may need to be checked more frequently.Originally posted by sajibabums View Post

SVC crisis: Orion motorsOriginally posted by neil.jericho View PostIve been servicing my bike with Orion Motors so far. Mainly because its easy for me to get to office from Madiwala where (Orion is located) than from other parts of town. Initially I was not happy with their service (got the bike re-washed 4 times on one occcassion) but over time I have noticed that they have improved. The biggest problem which they face(and every other service centre in Blore) is the number of bikes that they have to service on weekends. The best thing to do is give it on a weekday & they will do a good job on your bike. Orion included
I hv taken bike from here. Hv done 6 servicing already. Here are some points I hv noted.
Dont expect them to care for your bike as u do. Like many svc they also want to get rid of the so called "free servicing" rituals asap.
Always give a full description of the problem u r facing. Tell them to rectify/service. Make sure its done; do a small ride check up before final check out. If its not done;dont take the vehicle until its done. Of course u need to do all these things with gentleman manner
. However the point is get ur servicing is done no matter wats the excuse they give.
I hv been using same for them; and I m pretty happy with it.
I hv gone to perfect riders for a small issue I find the mech. are more friendlier and they carefully listen to to ur complains. It was not a regualr servicing time; something around 2 PM-Saturday. They did a quick check and had some pressure. Despite having loads of bike servicing that day the way they treat the customer is really gud. I m going to try my 7th servicing there. Lets see how it goes. ya. the surrounding is not gud. But how it matters wen bike gets good treatment!
Ok, a quick question. I am desperately luking for a jacket. Went to orion for dsg falcon, but it ws out of stock. Will take another 7-10 days.
Saw r15 jackets which fits perfectly to me. Anybody hv tried both? Which will b a bttr buy? Any other dsg outlet in bangalore where I can check falcon?

+1. I had done 3 free services, and I misplaced my manual. I frantically went to the svc, they asked me to get in contact with the AO. Did that, and told him service was due, and I didn't want to miss it. He assures me a replacement manual will reach me. And I'm waiting for it since May 2009.Originally posted by navnish View PostMy bike just had one free service after that never ever went to the SS. my friend was keen to get that fuel pump noise fixed but in the end its still undone. i don't have access to the fuel pump or else would have replaced it myself. Neway's this Service issue was there a year back and its still there .
New R15 owners all the best.
You get the point?? :D

clutch cable sliced
halo guys,..back after a long break to this thread, not much seems to be happening around here than srvice bit@hing, well, let me add some fuel to the fire
.
My bike has done just about 6.5k kms, and i felt the clutch slightly getting damp, on inspection i saw the cable was shearing, somehow i struggled for 10 more kms,and it snapped leaving me stranded, somehow replaced the clutch wire.
What i do not understand is, how the hell can the clutch cable cut in just 6.5k kms, wheras my old enticer had absolutely no issues for the 35k odd kms, i did on it.
Plus do i have to replace the entire clutch cable set now? There is a thin line between adventure and madness,...God must have made me myopic for a reason!!!

I am approaching that mark , 6.6k km , but if only the cable has to be replaced i got no problem , if the whole system has to be replaced , then it's a different story .Originally posted by krishkanthr15 View PostI had to replace mine also at 6100kms. ^^ im guessing there must be some issue with the cable... my bike has done 9k kms, no sound, no play... a one off situation can be encountered... for eg, i used to break clutch cables on my bullet every 5-6k kms... then i changed the routing of the cable, and now its been running for more than 30 k kms.. no issues..
