I have checked while it was cold! And the level was perfect. I thought maybe while the water pump is operating, I'll get a different reading.Originally posted by santoosh View Post

any update on this..?Originally posted by R-series View PostI wanted to know if there is some special coolent used for the R15 or can we use any of the coolents used in cars.
Actually I drained the coolend of my swift this past weekend and refilled it. I'm left with more than half a litre of coolent wich im thinking of using for the R15. Can that be done ?Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

i think the coolant brand is not a big deal. any good redimix coolant will do. tomorrow i am draining my cooling system and refilling with mak redimix coolant-the one i use for my zen car.in the service manual they say any coolant with antifreeze can be used so no chance of a warranty violation for using a different coolant.superbikes are the biggest blunders on indian roads.

Exactly. The coolant isn't an issue, as long as you drain the previous coolant completely. Because most coolants dint mix well with other cooling fluids. Motul Motocool mixes with everything else. So things to check:
1) Coolant compatibility.
2) Corrosion inhibitors.
3) The temperature range, over which protection is offered.
4) The right mix. If you're adding water.
My update: Bike done 12,800kms.
Using Motul 300vFL 15w50.
Going strong. Engine is still super smooth. gearshifts are maska.
Removed the steering and lubed the bearings & races at 12.6K kms myself.
Running a new Airfilter since 12.3K kms.
Chain puller is one notch ahead of no. 4.
Oil filter will be changed at next oil change.
Returning an efficiency of 33kmpl.You get the point?? :D

the can says that the coolant is ethylene glycol based - and it also says "coolant concentrate"...so the question is..water to be added or not ?Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

I have noticed this with a lot of bike riders.Three things tell a man: his eyes, his friends and his BIKE

Problem with gearing.
Guys there is a problem with my friend's R15 gearing.
Whenever 1st gear is applied and clutch released the gear comes into neutral on its own and now the frequency of this happening has also increased. Its like to engage 1st gear you need to apply the gear, keep your foot on the gear pedal and then release the gear.
Same this is happening with second gear as well. You need to apply 2nd gear, with the help of your toe keep the lever in that particular position and then release the clutch. If this is not done the gear would come to neutral.
The gears have become very soft. Unlike earlier whenever gear was engaged to any level and distinct "tak" was heard. Now its like you just need to give a slight nudge to upshift or downshift.
Any inputs on this???My thoughts...
