Yeah, that is the quality of their so called anodized billet aluminium finish stuff!
If I go looking for anodizing shops for repainting this, my wife will kill me, so left it as it is!
I don't think normal paint would look good on them though.

    @Servo

Next time pick up RTR lever's. They are cheap and dont loose their colour too
I don't look at them anymore actually, just have them on my bike!
&RTR levers are not a straight fit-someone else tried it already!

Hmm, the titanium colored ones held up better than the golden ones I think.

And as far as trying goes; I think 22 years of riding experience with over 5,00,000 kms, a open competition license and having ridden almost everything from RXS 100, RXZ 135 5 speed, TZR 125, TZR 250 (reverse cylinders), RZ500, CBR 1100 XX Blackbird, ZX12, R1, R125, says that I have been 'trying stuffs' eh ! Oh... just forgot to add TZ 250

again all tyres , all bikes and all combinations are not same ...you need to try it ...

120/80 R17 tyre profile would be different from Michelin 120/80 R17 profile ..

Riding bikes & working on bikes are two different things ....

FYI have tried Ducati Monster , Hayabusa , 30bhp big bore drag ported RX , R1 , Drag Ported Record Holding Rd 350 , Built 2 Rx 5speed which were one of the fastet bikes in Chandigarh , RXZ 6 speed , NSR 250 street ported , CBR1000 , ZX 10R & some 400s ...Not to forget my Cbz and R15 Please keep your expierence of riding in your pockets rather flaunting it !!

Being a bike forum i won't like to share expierence with cars ..

In that case you are left with either the RX 100 temp.mainstand or the accessory paddock stand.
Paddock is very easy to put-just need to put it under the swingarm&press. RX100 stand might need a small bolt or two, but again not that tough once you are used to it.
Take your pick-the paddock is quite a bit large, RX100 stand can be carried in a small bag. Where do you wanna transport it to btw?
I just want the flexibility to easily remove it whenever I feel it's not needed. Putting it another way, the I want flexibility to easily fix it whenever I feel it's needed. Looks like the RX100 temporary stand might be the one. Would it be available at the Yamaha dealer's or is it a part of some other local make available at two wheeler accessory shops?

In that case the paddock stand is easiest to operate-no nuts/bolts, just need to put it under the swingarm&press, the bike will get propped onto it. While taking off, just move the bike forward&it comes off the stand!
If you still decide on the RX100 stand (price difference factor), it should be available at Yamaha SVCs as well as local 2 wheeler spare part shops.

Well now that I come to know that the 2100bucks lever sets were not worth it, I would like to share what someone suggested me over this Thread. I literally scrapped off the black paint from the levers and then rubbed them with sand paper (using 2 different grades), and now they are like the ones on the RTR. Thanks to whoever suggested me to do that

                Heres the pic

Nothing much other than checking for a scratch-less bike. Tell them strictly that you need a 2010 made bike and it would be a big mess if the bike turns our to be a 2009 make. Before taking delivery, make sure the PDI is done properly. Check the engine oil level too (personally).

spray a clear coat so they remain shiny for longer period

you can also anodise the levers to give an goldenish effect or some other color

get in touch people who works with Aluminium stuff

That would have a cost attached to it
I observed that with the gloves I use while riding...the shine is already comming up better. But i'll keep the option as an alternative, would love to try it when I need a change.

Firstly, the suggestion to read the article was certainly not to put you or any one on this forum down. I was merely presenting another possibility.

Secondly, your previous post was offensive in the way you assumed that you were talking to a idiot.

Thirdly, I do work on my own bikes. Once again your statement is extremely patronizing. Anyway, your heart burn, not mine.

And last but not the least, I never flaunt my experience, I merely mentioned it to tell you that you are not talking to an idiot. By the way, you and I are blessed that we have been able to try out bikes that others only dream about. Anyway, my apologies if my comments have rubbed you the wrong way.

If you are choosing the blue colour bike ensure that the horn is mounted on the chasis and not on the radiator. Check that the horn is latest model and loud enough as the other racing colours are equiped with.
