      • One of my very close friend's R15 showed some serious problem this afternoon. The bike's radiator started leaking all of sudden in the parking lot itself. He saw the leak when he was about to start the bike.

Went to the SS at Lower Parel, Mumbai and showed the problem to personnel. They suggested two solutions. Replace the entire part(which he said will cost around 5.5k ) or use m-seal.

Friend was ready to get it replaced then n there but the personnel recommended m-seal. They have applied m-seal and the bike is left for drying for 2 hours.

What's surprising here is what caused the leak cause my friend never did any off-roading(to be hit by a stone or something), bike was idle for couple of days, he's not into stunting as well(as of sudden jerk or something). Am not a techie as such so these are just wild guesses.

Anyways, let's see how useful the m-seal turns out to be. Fingers crossed

              • ^^ about 7-10%. because when the rev limiter cuts in, the rpm is around 10.5-11k.

                  For anyone interested;

Here are the shift points for R15 (Stock Engine with Stock Gearing):

                  1st to 2nd: 9,700 rpm
                  2nd to 3rd: 9,500 rpm
                  3rd to 4th: 8,900 rpm
                  4th to 5th: 8,800 rpm
                  5th to 6th: 8,700 rpm

Still looking for more accurate dyno results for the bike. If someone has them, a more accurate map can be made.

                    • ^^ Then it will change slightly:
Actually it makes for a pretty interesting reading as to how shift points change with gearing changes:

                      1st to 2nd: 9,600 rpm
                      2nd to 3rd: 9,400 rpm
                      3rd to 4th: 8,800 rpm
                      4th to 5th: 8,600 rpm
                      5th to 6th: 8,500 rpm

(The rpm has been rounded off)

I do not get the meaning of "Shift points" here, are they points at which if shifting is done its gives max acceleration??

Also, I didn't get a reply for my prev post.......it's on the last page, take a look guys

                          1. When you say buy it form "Delhi scooter", I understand that this "Delhi Scooter" is a showroom. Where as I'm interested in knowing about the availability of the limited edition spares. Does this Delhi Scooter also have an Authorized Service Station??

                          2. Does every showroom dealer have an authorised service station? I heard from somewhere that in order to improve after sale services, vehicle manufacturers employed this method wherein they would provide dealership only to those people who are willing to open service centers also. Is this true? and if true, do all manufacturers adhere to this policy? Also, is there any law involved too or is it as per the will of the manufacturer to force every dealer to have a service station?

                          3. I live in Pitam-Pura region, so rajouri garden ain't that far. But comparitively, I have a Yamaha Dealer right in the next colony - Jinder Yamaha, Saraswati Vihar. I hear that his service station (Jinder Yamaha, mangol puri(near hyundai showroom) has one of the best infrastructure. I know an xbhpian who has residence in C.P. but goes to Jinder Yamaha for services. So what would you advice??get it from rajouri garden or Jinder yamaha?

                          4. Where exactly is the Delhi Scooter located? I'm not too familiar with Rajouri Garden, Although I see a yamaha showroom when I'm on the fly-over btw ESI and Mayapuri. Is that yam showroom the same delhi scooter??
1st Delhi scooters, is a service station and a showroom. why I recommend that you by your ride from there is that the owner once gets to know you would consider your requests in the future.

                          2nd. No idea.

3rd. wouldn't be able to compare, as Delhi Scooters is the one and only showroom/service station for Yamaha that I go to.

4th. near the rajouri garden metro station, the metro lin goes over the rajouri garden flyover(where there is also a red light corssing). if you are coming from dhaula kuan to punjabi bagh, via naraina...just before the redlight(about 50 meters) the service station will be on the left on the main road.
