You can refer to the Service manual for the R15.Originally posted by deepu165 View PostHi guys!!
can anybody pls suggest how to de-install the side fearing panel (the sticker panel saying R15). my friend just drop my yammie today morning & it got cracked, by chance indicator is safe but got little scratch on left side, little annoyed with him but it's okay no major thing happened to him or bike.
I was thinking to replace the panel myself
so anybody can help me out on this how many bolts i have to unscrew.
was going through some blog & found this so sharing with you guys...
R15 FRONT FAIRING SET RM1400 [INCLUDE ALL NUTS/BOLTS ETC] RM1200[EX...
apart from that i dont exactly remember the count of the screws but just to give you an idea, I would want you to know that the side panel (the one that has R15 written) and the one inside it(upper portion) will be removed together. before you completely seperate the two from the bike, would would have to disconnect the electrical wires (2 in count) from the indiator. Then you will have to unscrew the two peices which are connected by screws that are on the inner side.
So its like this,
Unscrew the screws from outside - pull out the faring (side and upper side) - disconnect the wires for the indicator - unscrew the screws that connect the two fairing together - connect the new side panel with the uppar part of the side panel - place them near the bike, connect the indicator wires - screw back the outter screws.
"Peice of cake"

Yesterday had to go somewhere where I took a route which has a smooth tarmac and its a 4-lane expressway. And wanted to test her speed as well, so after 1750kms took my R15 above 7500rpm upto 9000rpm the bike touched 125kmph and it was amazing
but I did'nt touch the red line as i was just testing (this was the first time she touched 125kmph). After that I rode normally upto 7500rpm. After touching the top it started making some noise most probably with the rear break pads. So just wanted to know if its coz of the new break pad or was it something else. It makes some rubbing sound as something i against the disc or tyre. I checked the tyre but there was nothing, then while riding I checked the brakes, by using different brakes individually. And the noise used to go down with the rear brake. So what can it be. Adjustment needed? OR some fault?
I will be going to SVC on Sunday to get my coolant topped up and chain lubed so was thinking to tell them for this strange sound, but still needs some advice on it.Last edited by Shivanshu; 03-31-2010, 02:06 PM.

Must be some small stone/dust particles on the rear disc. Sound should go after washing.Originally posted by Shivanshu View PostYesterday had to go somewhere where I took a route which has a smooth tarmac and its a 4-lane expressway. Don't worry, disc pads are always in mild contact with the discs&minor grooving is also common.
I won't advise you to open up the disc&grind the pads this early.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Could anyone tell me how many litres of fuel is left in tank when it goes into reserve..?
Also..when it goes into reserve...the fuel meter starts flashing..right...?
and once it starts to flash..the km reading on the display changes..i guess it shows how many kms we've done on reserve...!
Am i correct..?Live To Ride, Ride To Live

IMO its 1.9L when the 'F' letter comes on the ODO and the last fuel bar start flashing. when the 'F' letter comes on the ODO the km shows how many kms you have done in reserve. Once you refil and ride for 5kms the F word goes off and the ODO comes back to normal

Yes you are correct... i have done about 70kms after the fuel level guage started flashing. And still some fuel was left for more 10-15kms. Under normal riding conditions though. If u gonna rip your bike expect lesser figures.Originally posted by naveen1491 View PostCould anyone tell me how many litres of fuel is left in tank when it goes into reserve..?

and according to me your absolutely right about how the electronics behave when fuel comes on reserve.
