Recently, I saw the same thing happening the Factory Shop, where I had gone to collect my bike after its 3rd service. Since my bike was still being polished, I was watching one of the serviceman working on and FZ16, he tightened the adjuster on the left (chain side) till the chain had reached the proper tension. After that he tightened all the whole wheel assembly. When he tried to turn the wheel, lo behold; the stated problem. He started loosening the whole assembly and .......

Satyen, what R-series is saying is quite true. I have experienced it with my RX-100 and RXZ-135. Although the bike's rear wheel may seem to be in-line-according to the stamped lines on the swingarm, the factory markings were quite inaccurate. It left me and my friends scratching our heads. When the wheel was turned it would tighten up in one place and loosen in an other (the chain was perfectly tensioned). The rear break would also give a juddering feedback. It was only after a lot of trial and error that we came to the conclusion that the rear wheel is not in line.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View Post

^^^ but, to avoid that type of problem the R15 comes with the slider that is cast to a measurement.
According to the manual at 12K KMs the whole Chassis joints need lubrication. That includes the cone set. However, there are two problems - one that it is time consuming and the mechanics don't want to do it as it is not broke. two that we don't want them to do something wrong and are happy to keep it running until it troubles us.Originally posted by jd666 View Postrace cone set lubrication and steering stem noise people?? when, what interval, how?

Agreed, however, take a closer look at the swing arm, there are 2 notches. All that is required is for one of these notches to off by just 1 mm. Also the cast sliders can also be inaccurate. In the production process once the slider comes out of the casting process, it still needs to be finished. This is done by grinding the casting. During the grinding process inaccurate tolerances can creep in.Originally posted by HydBiker View Post^^^ but, to avoid that type of problem the R15 comes with the slider that is cast to a measurement.
The above is true not just for small bikes but also for big bikes like R1. In fact, during my last trip, I saw after-market sliders for R1 which were stamped and milled to an claimed accuracy of 1 thousand of an inch i.e. 1 thou.Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

the free part of the free services refers to the labour part. Yamaha doesn't charges labour charges for these free services but the consumables are chargeable, like the air filter, engine oil etc etc

Thanks to you, stripped the cone set, checked and lubed it at 12,5xx kms.
So far so good, no damage or ball pitting on the races anywhere. Got a picture too:You get the point?? :D

Thanks to the people who answered my questions on the anti-theft system. I've decided not to go for it. Will continue to look for disc locks (that don't need any wiring from the vehicle's battery).
@SarvajitOriginally posted by Sarvajit View Post@vrroom: I guess others have already answered your questions, here is my input on the stands-you have 3 options available:
1. Permanent center stand made for R15: Rs.750 odd, check pic here: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...tml#post177772
2. Paddock racing stand Rs.1500 check pic here: xBhp.com : The Global Indian Biking Community - Sarvajit's Album: My Bikes - Picture
3. RX 100 stand temporary Rs.200 or so.
Take your pick! I had the paddock stand initially but later (after my bike got tipped over by some meddlesome person in my building) when the mainstand was released, I opted for it, as it helps me to park in my congested office parking lot.
Sorry, your sentence has confused me. You had the paddock stand initially but later opted for what? The RX 100 temporary stand? How do you manage to fix it or remove it or transport it?
I'm interested in a stand that can be easily removed (and maybe easily transported). I don't want a permanent stand.
I also noticed the red rim stripe tape on your vehicle's picture. The accessories list from the dealer says it costs Rs.300. I don't know if it's worth that much, but it looks really good.

In that case you are left with either the RX 100 temp.mainstand or the accessory paddock stand.I'm interested in a stand that can be easily removed (and maybe easily transported). I don't want a permanent stand.
Paddock is very easy to put-just need to put it under the swingarm&press. RX100 stand might need a small bolt or two, but again not that tough once you are used to it.
Take your pick-the paddock is quite a bit large, RX100 stand can be carried in a small bag. Where do you wanna transport it to btw?
Yeah its the Yam accessory. I saw a friend's bike with the rim tape fading due to heat&also later it was too tough to remove, so I thought maybe paying Rs.300 to Yamaha might be better as opposed to paying 150-200 to local sticker shop waala might make sense, since they claimed its water, heat&God knows what else resistant!I also noticed the red rim stripe tape on your vehicle's picture. I don't see any deterioration in them since I got them about 1.5 years back.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Everybody's gold accessories have changed colour. They were gold and are now equal to my Esteem's Pearl Silver. Mine would have fared better than yours because I don't generally park my bike in Sun and have hardly used it in the past 4-5 months!Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostLol, what color are yours now?All my billet accessories have turned to white!
