Hi Guys, just a query. I am planning for my 2nd bike, and most probably will be a R15.
Will appreciate if you guys can tell me if you face similar problem in your R15.
"My friends P220 Dts-i is 8 months old and has 6k kms on the odo.
For the past 500kms, his bike behaves a bit crazy. When he shifts gears up right from the 1st to 2nd gear till 4th to 5th gear the power loses drastically for a second or two and it queaks up again.. It feels as if like the bike is runnin out of petrol making a small jerk on every gear changes.. This sometimes makes him feel as if Torque dips when he changes the gears."
This issue arises after 15-20 mins of hard riding (Red lining). It is intermittent.

I guess the springs have become weak so are unable to engage the clutch immediately and so slippage occurs which causes symptoms like you mentioned.
Im getting varied efficiency.Originally posted by Parth View PostGuys anyone else here experiencing unusually high mileage? I'm getting 48kmpl and that is when I've been doing 7-8k rpm runs quite constantly.
This is a bone stock r15, no joel parts have been added.
From 38 to 43kmpl.
I think 48 is achievable but riding at 7-8K rpms should reduce it.
But hey who minds better fuel efficiency.
With petrol prices skyrocketing, any saving is major saving.

YES , You can use the pass which when pressed gives you output of halogen .Originally posted by Prakritij View PostTHANKS I got it now
now what I want to ask is if I use a H4-2 bulb with high-halogen and low-xenon, will I be able to flash for pass(with bright light)?
any place where I can get only the projectoe lens without the bulb?
P.S.: sorry to all if it is OT here.

Again buying only projectors wont be a direct fit on you HL Assembly , hence its not a retro fit and will have to take enough care while fitting them cause if they aren't installed properly there are high risk's of problems you may face .
I am not sure about the getting only the projectors , i remember that people used to source them from old junkyard were you can find car's headlights.Hercules wow 18 (Cycle)

since the OEM reflectors will cause a lot of glare to oncoming Traffic, I am thinking of smoked blacked out reflectors though I don't know how I can make them smoked. I think I'll get enough light without normal reflectors or projectors with HID

Not sure about though , As i have mentioned in one of my previous post now you are able to get a retro fit for yamaha r15's hence installation is child's play and reliability is as good as stock set up. hence vendors do take advantage of these by selling as the entire assemblyOriginally posted by jigar2speed View PostI have heard new projectors for R15 comes with the entire assembly ? Is this true ?
.
Once when i visited sai ram motors in padi, chennai . I was shocked to see they have installed the same retro fit projectors in a brand new bike
. When i asked them about it , they said they are selling these R15's a special editions which do comes with higher price tag .

SOLUTION:LET THE BIKE WARM UP FOR A MINIMUM OF 5-10 MIN ON NEUTRAL GEAR.THEN YOU WILL NOT FACE THIS PROBLEM.

There are Projectors separately in market were u need to source the supporting HID bulbs . But its a complicated and end result will be good only if it is done by expert which in turn is very rare in our places .
second option , Which is best as for as i concern and which i personally opted for is buying a retro fit projectors which has inbuilt HID bulbs and is plug and play type .
A lot of dealers import them, HID kits, HID projectors, projector headlights, HID lights --Kingtech Auto Parts Co., Limited Official website --Powered by MetInfo
If you can source out one of these from a local vendor it would be hassle free
I bought mine for Rs.6500 (with installation) in chennai .
Akshay,
I contacted one of the Xbhp fellow in bangalore and heard, for an expert to install HID with projectors i need to ride chennai.
I checked the link you mentioned , it looks like this comes as a kit (Projectors and HID kit). Which product from this is like yours ?

I think this is good to bring with limited graphics so tht later on we can have this custom paint as we need.Originally posted by abhi9665663488 View Postyamaha grew up in india mainly because R15 ...
that bike created a style statement .. and name for yamaha in india ....
but they offer very less graphic and color options compared to fz or fazer
.....
guys how many of u think yamaha should offer more attractive graphics with r15
???

Resale Value
Hi guys,
What is a decent price to expect from a May 2010 R15 with 24,000km on the ODO. Bike maintained well, with last 5,000km done on Joel's big-bore and air filter. No other mods. Please let me know soon..
