      dear sir/ma'am,
First of all I'm very sorry having to lodge a complaint against a
dealer/svc owner for her rude behaviour to customers. These people are
harming the Good reputation of such a respectable company with world
      presence like Yamaha
The dealer/svc is in Vaikom and its name is Ave Mariya Automobiles
I came here Today(and I'm still here) for getting my Bike(R15)
serviced(6th free service). Since my Bike has covered only 1000kms
since the last service and it was running on semi-synthetic oil which
can be used trun 3000kms(I ride most of the time below 6k rpm), I
didn't wanted to get it changed as it'd be just a waste of Money.
Also they told me that lubing the chain is chargeable which I thought
was free during periodic servicing(normally I do the lubing myself
with Motul chain lube, which I did 2days ago). I told the lady(also
the owner) who runs the svc that I do not wish to change the oil and
lube the chain. Upon which she rudely told me that it is a part of
free servicing and if I don't want the oil change, chain lube then I
can go to another service centre.
I'd have gladly went away but since I took leave from work Today just
for the servicing and since there are no other svc nearby(the next
nearest has to be taken prior appointment), I decided to do the
servicing here in Ave Mariya Automobiles itself.
They'll charge me for the oil change and the chain lube but it is not
the thing I'm worried about. The thing thats bothering me is that
these people are swindlers and I'm getting robbed in broad daylight.
Not only me, so many people who come for servicing here.
I've faith in Yamaha but the svc people are really hopeless who only
think of their sales but service be damned.
I'll gladly pay for the oil change when it will be due but I don't
like to see my hard earned Money to be robbed like this.
I'll never recommend my friends to go to this svc for any purchase or service.
I'm a mechanical engineer by profession and I know whats good for my Bike.
I'm also putting this mail up in xBhp.com - India's Most Popular Motorcycling/Biker's Community | India's First Motorcycling Biking Lifestyle Magazine which is the leading
      motorcycling portal of India.
I'm still here as I am waiting for my Bike to get serviced but I'll
never come back here. I know most svcs don't care much about servicing
a Bike properly and the owners don't give a damn too. But atleast they
should talk to their customers politely. The attitude that lady
displayed was not what is expected. No wonder I don't see any Bike on
display in the showroom of this svc.
Also a few days back I went to another svc to purchase a bottle of
fully synthetic oil for future use(during 7th service). They gave me a
1L bottle of Mobil 1 0W40 for Rs.1150/-. Upon much searching on the
Internet, I was confirmed that this particular grade of oil is for
Cars and not for Bikes. If used it Bikes, there will be clutch
slippage and wear and tear due to the low viscosity Index and hence
not recommended. Since the svc was using 0W40 oil since long for oil
changing in Bikes which is meant to use in Cars, they won't even take
      it back.
Why do you allow all these to happen and leave your customers high and
dry?(most common people won't even know)
Japan is famous for the politeness of the people and here the rude
behaviour and ignorant attitude of the svc people is throwing muck on
      it.
Atleast please call the Ave Mariya people and ask why they did this.
Though I know its for the few easy bucks but in the end its going to
cost them more as me and my friends will never come here again. Also
      hundreds more who feel cheated.

Hope to hear from you soon about the actions you have taken.

      Regards,
      Prakritij Hazarika

Keep us posted on the response from Yamaha.
I had fired a complain with Orion motors sometime back and the response was quick and the service people called me up and did the needful.

was your engine very cold? i remember that something similar happened with me after washing it once. It started after some time but there was no problem after that. So unless it happens again I guess you could forget about it.

        • Hi fellows,
I did my first servicing at 500 KMs

The first free servicing cost me Rs.1047 (too huge for a free servicing)
They charged me for following :

          1) Yamalube 4T 15W-50-SL
          2) Element Assy,OIL CLE
          3) Yamaha chain lube
          4) Yamaha coolent

Now I see 1800 KMs on ODO and wish to go for Second free servicing.

Can you guys tell which of the above doesn't need to be changed in 2nd servicing ?

          Also,
Where can I get a main stand in Pune that can be fitted temporarily for Chain cleaning and Lubrication ?

          Cheers

But in Kolkata Yamaha Factory Shop, a complete different story altogether. I went there for 2nd servicing of my bike with 950 km on odo. As at first service they changed the engine oil(mineral), so they told me nothing to change in this service only servicing had been done. They told me come at 2500km on odo to change the engine oil as it the time to change the oil has not come yet. They only took charge for chain lube(Rs150), and thats all. their behaviour was very good. I am quite satisfied with their attitude and gesture.

yes, she behaved so rudely that I wished I could put the exhaust pipe in her mouth and revved hard
what she told me was "changing the Engine oil is a part of free service and if I don't want to change, I can leave and go to some other svc"
I had no choice or otherwise I'd have gone to other svc instantly. All she wanted was to make a few bucks by replacing the engine oil but she has lost a customer and even my friends will not go there.
Hope Yamaha does something to cure the attitude of their dealers. Hope they are watching this space. btw, no news from Yamaha so far.

That is for adjusting your chain tension . You can see there are notches on both sides you can adjust them by loosening the nut on one side .Read the service manual for more info.

R15 guys check the attachment out . Developing a LED tail and indicator for the R15 . Check the pics out . Let me know your thoughts and suggestions .

                  • I'm more interested in the tyre hugger in the pic-last time someone told me it was available in Singapore&I asked my friend who coincidentally happened to be there, but it was not in stock.
Any chance of getting something like that here? Or do we have to retrofit the Stunner's hugger?

I got 132, sitting upright in heavy crosswinds. What you got is entirely achievable.

The cam needs the FFE to work properly, and the FFE is noticeably louder than stock even with the db killer. Maybe, its better to get the ECU only if the stock feel is important.

                          • First service !!!

                            Hello Fellow riders,

I have just completed 1000 kms and my first service. There was no issues with the bike so I have asked the Service Center (Raj Yamaha , OMR) to do a general service. I took the delivery and bike is feeling little hard on riding. Refinement is not as good as it was before the service. There is no Vibs or noise anywhere. Not sure if Its just me or my bike is actually not topnotch. I am guessing it could be chain tension issue. Any suggestions?
P.S - Service center did lubed the chain at the time of servicing.

If so, then Its definitely the Chain getting overtightened...
