The SS head won;t be available today evening so @Navnish and R15Rocks : Let's go tomo evening or monday evening. I will confirm the date later. They will take snaps of the rust, paint fade etc. More vehicles = more snaps = better feedback = better products.

      • [quote=ketan_r15;142421]Hey guys..I need some serious help from u people...

I've been lookin for this chain lube since long time. But here at Thomsun Auto i m not gettin it. The SS guy says it's out of stock. Company sends a limited stock which is strictly used for service center use. I today asked him if i can use any aftermarket lube for the chain.
He said yes u can use but make sure IT'S SPRAY GREACE N NOT ANY OIL OR LIQUID LUBRICANT.

        Ketan's rite..
In my case even the ss guys don't have it.They use motul and some other synthetic spray cleaner & blames it on Yamaha for not provideing
Have mailed to the owner to take it with Yamaha.Don't know it will help or not.

        • What is the highest speed anybody have heard of being achieved in a R15...???

One of friend tells me he reached a 147km/hr on a slightly inclined open stretch. I wonder if I should believe him. Is it possible???

            Of course it is.

Ya sure it will until and unless you push the bike off a cliff you will get a true 147kmph without any speedo errors

Man, don't say "true 147" ... it's entirely different. But yes, 147 on speedo is believeable.

There was a guy who made R15 speedo MS Excel chart based on data available ... He referred in 6th gear at 10 krpm - 145.15 kmph ... (-other drag, transmission loss etc. + Speedo indicated = somewhat same value)

Now, if Rev limiter cracks in at 10.5 krpm, then 147 on speedo is possible, although you'll have to find an incline I believe ...

Actually pushing the bike off a cliff will still not give the bike that speed...In fact hardly any speed on the speedo will be indicated because the front tires won't be rolling then !
So your smarty answer didn't really help either...

I am not talking of true speed here. I am enquiring regarding the indication in all fit and working speedo of the R15! Is it possible??? Has anybody heard of such figures being attained on the R15's speedo??? By the way what is the speed on the fastest R15 we have here at xBhp...

Vivvad you are the same couldn't say much, best of luck with your Xcel sheet and your bike india.

You say that speed is possible and you also say that you require an incline. apart from the mobile phone thread posts none of your posts carry a valid point towards that topic, even if you say that you have a proof let us know that Xcel sheet guy'z name and provide us a valid link to prove the gear ratios you are talking about. anways there is no point in wasting time with your posts.

                          • R15 top speed!

Ok, for one NO STOCK bike will ever be able to hit the rev-limiter in top gear. Least of all the R15 with its super-tall top gear ratios. It just will not have enough torque to pull through. If u want it to hit rev-limiter in top gear, it has to have some works done. Joel has worked on his engine and it hit the rev-limiter in top gear with a speedo indicated 150 kmph. And it did that over a distance of 1.5 kms. So u guys can figure out the rest for a stock bike.

P.S : A stock R15 will max out mostly around 130 or so over a looooong distance in 6th gear and will not hit the rev-limiter in top gear. I say this as a fellow R15 owner and rider. I was once riding at 110 kmph(speedo-indicated) in 5th and once I shifted to 6th, to my horror saw the speedo drop down to 106kmph. Such is the state of tall gearing on the R15.

@Samarth: Dude, everyone will keep "picking" on u as long as u rely on magazines and you-tube videos ALONE with zero-experience to base ur theories and arguments on!

Can anyone from Mumbai or Pune tell me where can i get such lubricant spray?
If it's in Mumbai then it's better for me. And if in Pune then i'll have to wait till i ride to pune some day.
Ketan my showroom at Vikhroli sells it and was in stock the last time i inquired (some 2mnths back)... will be visiting the service this week, will ask them n let u know.

Sorry for confusion... A General OT: I "think" Joel can make more mods later & maybe we'll have a higher speedo rating ... Just my personal thought!
