Guys I have fitted Halonix Blue bulbs(35/35) today. This is the same which ketan had got. I will post some pics soon. Plus I got Blue Pilot lamps for Rs.20 each. I will be using these till the time I get white ones.
Also got a Cover. The fitting is not very good. Doesnt cover the rear portion completely but still does its job well by covering all the fiber parts.Last edited by DriftKingNT; 12-14-2008, 04:57 PM.Yamaha YZF-R15 is Here

@ driftnight
Congrats dude..
and which cover u talkin bout? parking/garage cover?
Well in that case i was in the same boat some time back as u r..
I was usin my P200's cover temporarily but that wasnt enough. Rear portion used to remain open.
Now got a nice one. It was actuly too big for R15. So got it altered from local tailor. Now it's like custom made. Fits absolutely perfect. Plus the material is very good. The same one which Maruti-suzuzi provides for their 4 wheelers. Durable yet soft.
. Price 300 bucks.

You were not forgetting that you are not to exceed 6k, when you tried this stunt... Did you?Originally posted by _keerthy View PostWhy does the bike hate to go beyond 80kmph in top gear? Feels almost like the bike has run out of breath. I did not want to push further coz i have covered only 150+ kms so far.
Anyway, even I had crossed that limit once before first servicing. I had driven 700kms by that time & on that day, I was particulerly upset. I ran her at 122 kmph. She did it at ease even then. I think you should go to SS & get her examined.And God said, "Let there be light" and there was HID Kit. And God saw that the light was good;

Metros have their own advantages. You can find stuff much more easily. I had visited nearly every accessory shop in Aurangabad to find this things. Well living in Aurangabad is benificial. Very less traffic(even in peak hours) as compared to Mumbai and also traffic cops are less in number so do whatever you want to.
You cant call those pics cool. Cant you see the Dirt on my Bike.
BTW- Should I keep these Pilot Lamps or search for White Ones.Last edited by DriftKingNT; 12-14-2008, 11:27 PM.Yamaha YZF-R15 is Here

Questions, questions and more questions
Hi guys,
I've been following this thread with great interest from its inception as I've been really smitten by the R15 despite not having taken a test ride till date. Was planning on buying a red one in Jan / Feb but after going through the entire thread and seeing the spreadsheet Im really having my doubts. With such terrible service (which was the reason I didnt go in for one earlier, I wanted to see if Yamaha could pick up the ball but looks like they cant) do you guys think its worth going in for it ? Has anyone been able to get any response from Yamaha people regarding the sub-par build quality ? Archi, what happened to your trip to the SS guys ? Issues addressed ? I guess if things stay the same I might go in for the RTR instead.

Dude... Don't you worry about it! Whatever be the service, bike herself is extremely good. Not buying that bike for the lack of service, is like refusing to marry an almost perfect girl, just because she wears a hairband of wrong colour.Originally posted by neil.jericho View PostHi guys,

BTW, not all service centers are bad. I get a rather good service at my SS.And God said, "Let there be light" and there was HID Kit. And God saw that the light was good;

@All, I'm also into the family of rear disc worn out group. Now need to get new one
.
One friend who drove my bike when I bought the bike said my bike's sound has changed considerably. Any suggestions on why dis's happening, Plz
Got a OSRAM nightbreaker from Sangam automobiles from GP road this saturday n it's cool. Can't decide whether to change the RHS also into OSRAM considering the battery issues.
Anyway inputs on how to make both the bulbs work on DIM?
Onemore thing, my friend hav installed a PHILIPS HID in his R15 without getting his warranty void as that HID won't require any wire cutting(infact he got it installed from the SS itself). It costed him 10 K

Again - this is something we expect the service guys to do - as mentioned in the service check list.
In addition I bought the Cyclo - Anti Rust lube.

Hey guys..I need some serious help from u people...
I've been lookin for this chain lube since long time. But here at Thomsun Auto i m not gettin it. The SS guy says it's out of stock. Company sends a limited stock which is strictly used for service center use. I today asked him if i can use any aftermarket lube for the chain.
He said yes u can use but make sure IT'S SPRAY GREACE N NOT ANY OIL OR LIQUID LUBRICANT.
I tried finding it out in nearby shops but cudnt get it.
Can anyone from Mumbai or Pune tell me where can i get such lubricant spray?
If it's in Mumbai then it's better for me. And if in Pune then i'll have to wait till i ride to pune some day.
Plz comment soon guys.
Thanx in advance.
I hav some of the chain lubricant oil left which i used to use for my P200. It was the recommended oil of SE90 grade. I was thinkin to use the same for R15 as well. But SS guy strictly said NO to it.

@Mithun: Thanks for the info on the accessories available at Perfect Riders. I have picked them up when I was in B'lore over the weekend&was particularly amazed to see the LED position lights costing 500 each. Haven't installed them, but am very curious to know how they look&whether they're worth! Thanks again!Quench my thirst with gasoline!
