Hey guys, finally got the bulbs changed today.
Initially i was interested in going in for Osram night breaker 55/60W. But the price was a lill too high for me. 1350 for a pair. But the bulbs were too good.
Problem was that they were 55/60W. If in future they give some problem, then i wud hav had to switch back to the stock bulbs or go for some other configuration. So it was a sort of gamble and 1350 wsa too much for that.
Where as bulbs which i hav put hav cost me 290 Rs including fiting and pilot lamps. They are halonix 35/35W.
The reason i went for these bulbs was that i checked my friend's bike's performance with same bulbs. Illumination was quite good. Atleast enough for me. We specialy went for a small ride on the outskirts of Mumbai where there's no street light to check the illumination and it was quite good.

there's no risk here as they r 35/35W. So no battery drainage.

Guys I searched many shops for bulbs but didnt find any. Some important shops are left and will check there soon otherwise I will have to get them from Mumbai or Pune.

you have mentioned that the visibility has improved slightly ,is it much better than the stock 35/35 bulbs? or is the main reason the color of the bulb? becoz if the visibility improves i wud go in for those definitely.Originally posted by ketan_r15 View PostHey guys, finally got the bulbs changed today.

@ driftking : rumours like this have been coming since day1. we have spoken to teh yammy ppl incharge of product development during teh r15 championship, He says no ecu upgrades will be done in the future for the r15. i guess they wud rather invest in developing a new bike to take advantage of teh fact that finally after ages they have ppl queuing up at their showrooms.Last edited by harshaguduru; 12-13-2008, 07:09 PM.Why is the man who invests all your money, called a broker?

One thing DriftKing, a sports bike will NEVER have a drum brake at the rear these days, and the FZ's swingarm+tyre are designed for low speed cornering, the flat profile of the tyre wont suit R15. The R15's tyre on the other side has a rounded profile, suitable for cornering at higher speeds..so sounds like a rumour spread to meOriginally posted by DriftKingNT View PostGuys I searched many shops for bulbs but didnt find any. @ harshaguduru
Well as i have written it was my personal opinion. Others may not find much of a difference. Therefore cant exactly swear on it.
But yeah, i found the illumination slightly better than that of the stock ones. And benefit i got was that i cud see the out come first and then decide because my friend had put those bulbs prior to me.
As the power is same, there's not noticable difference in light but yes the color does make some difference.
Again..reviews may vary from person to person.
On my side, I m happy with what i've got after the change.

at present running a single silverstar 60/55(low+high) + oem 35/35(high) + 2X stock pilot lamps. brilliant light and amazing spread + depth (low now is equivalent to high before in terms of depth). amazing bulbs. no battery probs as of now.
next week will run both silverstars and depending on these results it'll be 1 or 2 nightbreakers next month. FYI silverstars are yellow and a nightbreaker is 2 tone (low - yellow, high - white)

DUde, you still need to see a lot of the bike you have. Till then, dont draw any conclusions like "she's running out of breath after 80kmph". Just be patient uptill the first service, and I assure you'll be more than happy and proud to own the best bike aroundOriginally posted by _keerthy View PostWhy does the bike hate to go beyond 80kmph in top gear? Feels almost like the bike has run out of breath. I did not want to push further coz i have covered only 150+ kms so far.
Remember, these first 1000kms are the ones that determine the performance of your bike in the rest of its life. So, just have patience and treat her nice, she'll definitely pay you back for the patience and love
