        • I for one am using just one 55/60W for the LHS as I ride a lot in city and the radiator fan runs a long time draining the battery. Santoosh uses two 55/60 bulbs. IIRC Mithun also uses the same. Go ahead and use the 55/60, no issues. Make sure u remove the pilots though. Even if the radiator is running for a long time, the battery will not drain.

@darkknight: Who is that "Wonderful-knowledgable" dealer man? Show him to me. What crap is he blabbering?? My Scorpio runs with 2*100/90W bulbs. Does it then mean that the illumination is worse than a 55/60 or for that matter my R15 which uses two 35/35 bulbs? Crazy yaar...... FYI, I was running a 55/60 on my old Pulsar V1 with the Avenger coil and loved it much better than the stock 35/35 setup. If u have any more doubts, PM Santoosh.

Guys, its just basics. A 60W bulb IS/WAS/WILL ALWAYS BE better than a 35W bulb. And since the R15 uses DC for lighting, there WILL be increased battery drain. Just compensate it by removing the pilots. Each pilot lamp is 5w, so reduce 10W. I might go for 2*55/60 if its touring, but for in-city use, one 55/60 is more than enough.

Use it and check the difference. If u feel the illumination is worse, then we will see about that!

Each pilot lamp is 5W. With the radiator fan running+a 35/35+a 55/60 and u try the horn, the battery load is sooo high that it drains the battery and the horn does not work. Compensate the addition of a higher wattage lamp by removing the pilot lamps. Thats it! I tried this and it works.

              • so you are talking about using a single 55/60 on the low beam side.

Yep! I ride too much inside city with the radiator fan running, so opted for this setup. If u do not use the radiator fan much, 2*55/60 also will not cause u much of a problem.

                  • Got a call from yamaha again .. they listened to my problems ad I gave a detailed description of rust, paint, "back orders", chain probs etc. Good to see the initiative they have taken to see that the customer care actually cares about the customer.

Now waiting for my probs to be resolved.

The SS head won;t be available today evening so @Navnish and R15Rocks : Let's go tomo evening or monday evening. I will confirm the date later. They will take snaps of the rust, paint fade etc. More vehicles = more snaps = better feedback = better products.

Guys last saturday I changed both stock bulbs to OSARAM NIGHT BREAKER (12V, 60/55W) the illumination is amazing & em loving it.

I have not experienced any issues its been close of 5 days.

Guess what I still have the pilot/auxillary lights.

Did some research from the internet & found that as long as the voltage matches & not too much of difference on wattage everything should be fine.

Nope. A halonix 55/60W yellow colored bulb. It came as a spare set for my car.
