man .. this is yamaha service .. they don't want to sell parts/give good service and hence dissuade ppl from buying yamaha bikes .. and then finally sit jobless for 10 years before releasing another good bike and then letting down ppl with service .. the visious cycle continues.

hey "R15rocks"..thanks a lot for the info....but i dont stay in hyderabad...so bad luck...but seriously when i went to YSS for my first servicing...he never got it polished when i came for the delivery...and when i asked him about it...he said sorry sir its not possible right now as it will take time...so u can come tommorow and get it done....so it really pissed me off....i went to the showroom which is just a minute away and asked the sales guy to tell the service guys to get it done for me...obv accompanied with some shouting from myside...
...so they did it for me the next minute....
SPEAKING LEGALLY---you can actually sue the yamaha ss people for not giving the listed service which is mentioned at the back of the free service coupon...
and hey BTW....what do you guys think about teflon coating....do you think that can help the rusting thing....

abi, just go in for a good paintjob, moreover if the teflon coating chips off, its not like paint which can be used to touch up. best shot is to have the bike stripped down and the frame and supports repainted fresh by some good paintshopA man's testosterone level is directly proportional to bhp that he's using on his motorcycle.

I wouldn't suggest teflon, coz that is getting outdated&has issues of paint fading. Autoglym(known as 3B Matrix in Hyd) uses higher quality products which help in maintaining long life of all surfaces. They have around 108 products(for bikes&cars), which include each&every part. If you take an annual contract for Rs.400 or so, they'll give you 2 services a year. It takes about 3 hrs.You can actually see them using some compounds on the rims, silencer, plastic parts, everything! It last for about 4 months. Check for Autoglym Centers in Delhi, it must be there under a different brand name.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Hey guys, As the teflon coating topic is discussed i would like to ask a question on this.
Yesterday i had gone to Thomsun Auto, Andheri, from where i've bought my bike, to collect my Smart Card.
I had put an order for 2 main stands(removable ones, which r used by SS guys). The fellow over der insisted on the tefflon coat which they hav just started.
He said there'll b an annual contract of 1000 bucks in which total of 3 coats r included after equal intervals.
I was never interested in tefflon coats, neither i got it done for my previous P200.
1) So shall i go for this contract or not?
2) If not, i've heard there r some polishes available in market which we ourselves can use and polish the metal surfaces. Can anyone tell me some good names for such polishes? Are they really worth buying?
And one more imp question is,
3) I m plannin for a real long ride in coming days, after i my fractured toe gets well. And for that i am thinking to invest some money in some kind of GPS device. I hav absolutely no idea about handheld GPS devices, like which is good, which is bad.
a) So can some one suggest me over GPS device?
b) Is there something specialy made for biker's use?
c) WHere in Mumbai can I get one?
d) I've heard bout Garmin devices, are they available in Mumbai?
Also one more thing is that I own a Nokia N95, which has maps function. I havnt activated the mobile net as it wasnt required to me and hence have never used the Maps GPS function. So plz tell me on this as well as to is the Maps function in N95 the same as in the GPS device? If it's so then i think i can save that money which i wud hav used to buy GPS device.
Thank u all u guys in advance..
I think i've asked too many question..

If there's already a thread running for GPS device, plz paste a link, i'll follow it.
Thanx again.Ketan Nikharge.

You can use your N95 for the GPS function. It should be good enough.Originally posted by ketan_r15 View PostHey guys, As the teflon coating topic is discussed i would like to ask a question on this.

As for teflon, it is much superior to the local polishes, as the local polishes wear off as soon as you wash the vehicle. Teflon stays for about4 months atleast. It protects all the parts from fading&if done well, even swirl&surface scratches. I can send you a pic of my 5 year old Fiero F2 which looks as good as brand new(it gets teflon twice a year). You can use local wax polish(Rs.50-100) in between teflon coats just to make it shine more temporarily!
Whats a SmartCard btw?Last edited by Sarvajit; 12-05-2008, 02:05 PM.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Yes, Get teflon coated - Its nothing but a non-stick coating used to prevent minor scratches.Originally posted by ketan_r15 View PostHey guys, As the teflon coating topic is discussed i would like to ask a question on this.

@ketan :I have already got teflon coating done through ss and it cost me rs. 600 for 1 time here and yes they are offering the same package of Rs. 1000 fo 3 times coating in a year.
but i also got to know about this autoglym (supposed to be very gud) in kharghar and belapur and will check out soon.
& yes teflon has according to me helped in avoiding of rusting as its 3 months for the bike and no rusting visible as yet.sigpic
