sadly my only issues are a bad paint job/ cracking and rusting. The major problem is the unavailability of parts. The engine is OK. I can complain about a slightly hard shift from 2-3 but I fear that all the shifts will come out worse so not risking it. I rectified the rear rotor heating by adjusting it myself.

Chain noise I still have so let's see what can be done about that. get your vehicle too and anyone else from bangalore can come with me.

Time: Sharp 4PM on Friday, 12/12

So I asked what do you really do for servicing on an R15.
                I made a note..

                if there is sound.
                if there is knocking sound.

                Maybe he is right

Sorry he did one thing for free, lubricate the front sproket and pivot points - which I already did 2 days back.

I got a call later asking myself to visit the service station to sign the customer satisfaction report.

Kudos to Yamaha! However, help us from this scam.

Mithun, Im waiting for your reply on what really happened from morning to evening, was it any different from the above mentioned stuff. Thanks dude.

Good job on the spreadsheet guys. I've put in my small inputs too. Like Archi, my problems are also mainly bad paint job&unavailability of spares. Even if they can't change the painting quality, they can definitely provide a better service&spares backup.

                          • ok..

Hmm.. so Panache was right, they don’t have to set the valve clearance or check it unless there is an issue.
But my gearbox has become jumpy in the first 2 gears – the smoothness has faded 60% since the first service.
Wonder if its not the right engine oil.
Brake pads wear more due to :-
                            Lack of engine breaking.
Overfilled Brake fluid – Above max will cause extra stress on the braking system, drag or even brake lock.
                            Discs overheating.
                            Dirty Discs.
                            And after all its business.

@Santa, hehe - breakpads usually don't have to be replaced for atleast 20k kms, Im sure 90% use their R15 in city alone.
@Mithun, I can bet you could have run another 8k kms on it without any serious breaking loss. did you try cleaning .. maybe with a sandpaper.
Perhaps the pads would have glazed over due to the heat off the discs, sand it and clean it with break cleaner..
BTB- Do you have the old pads?
