  • ^^Nope. The mech removed the rear wheel completely, cleaned and greased the main stay or axle bolt or whatever u call it and adjusted the chain. He never even touched the front wheels except working on the disc brake.

Try to improvise by putting your own cushioning. I need to do the same.

        • R15 - heating problem

          Hi guys,

my bike is 25 days old, whenever i took my bike for about 10 to 15km with the average speed of 60kmph, the side engine parts ( both sides ) gets hot, i could not touch my hands on both side of parts ( where Gear & Break located ). So i took it to SC, and gave it for first service with in 600km. they checked the coolant and oil all are normal level and finished with the first service.

I feel now the heating is reduced a bit, but not bearable.

need your expert help. i am kind of worried.

          Note: No engine overheat signal.

          please help.

          thanks.

Means, its a new engine. The heat will reduce as the engine runs - in and sooner or later u will get used to it too!!!

@Santa: Any solution to my problem Sir??!!

                    • Been getting my R15 to office since the last few days. I've changed my opinion-its not bad even in heavy traffic! Surprisingly, it pulls from around 35-40 in 6th gear with ease. Riding position is a bit cumbersome initially, but when you get used to it, it is as easy to 'cut' around as any other bike in traffic. Going to get a safe parking in office soon, so that my baby is scratchless. Congested parking lots are the only things that bother me.
Yamaha was right-it is built for heavy traffic, as well as open highways. I'm more in love with my R15 now.
P.S.&O.T.: Now that my R15 has become my daily bike, I am considering buying the Ninja exclusively for weekend rides!

                        friends,

i am using my R15 for home-office-home on NH45 road. my doubt will be , i always travel @ 5th gear around 60 to 65kmph ( glad crossed 500km limit ) , my thinking will be , i will put 6th gear for constant 80 to 90kmph riding, otherwise its good to go with 5th gear? , correct me if am wrong.

                        thanks.

If you read my post above, you'll get your answer. On a highway, I shift to 6th@around 60.

                          • @R15Rocks - got it, to clear my doubt, is it good to go on 5th gear @60kpmh. if we dont put on 6th gear, does it affect any fuel consumption?
