doubtful...
i am very doubtful about yamaha launching a performance upgrade by themselves,the r15 is slated for 22hp,and has been detuned for indian conditions,is for sure,but u cannot achieve this upgrade with just ecu remapping,a/f ratios have to be reworked,rev limiter has to be shifted,u need better air scoops and a complete re work on the xhaust sans new back pressure.so if my guess is right,this is as far the r15 goes in factory upgrade,wait fnr a bigger cc by 2010 to combat the ninja.There is a thin line between adventure and madness,...God must have made me myopic for a reason!!!

read why every big brand has a separate name for performance products and you'll get it.
do all the manufacturers produce performance part under diff name and void the warrenty if used?

hmmm... so u guys are running rear wheel adjustment at number 1 even for 6K and 8K kms...my bike crossed number 2 position by the 6K service and is needing adjustment every 1000 kms. Also, off late that chick chick sound is not going away... the SC guys have tried adjustment and lubing but that didn't go away.
I carry the chain degreaser and lube every where I go and lube the chain & sprocket every 500 KMs. Right from day 1.
May I suspect a problem set?
One senior mechanic said that my bike's suspension is tighter than other R15's. This is something I have noticed many times. My R15 has the stiffest suspension of all other R15's I have tried. He then told me that a stiff suspension impacts the chain drive and hinted at getting the suspension (too stiff) and chain - sprocket kit (premature wear) changed in warranty!
Any suggestions?

At 8K got the rear disc pads changed. Costed me 1135/- including labour.
While observing the rear disc I found a black screw there, shown in the pic with red color. Is that for some adjustment?

hay guys,after months of following this post religiously,i decided to hell with waits and aprehensions,im gonna get myself the r15,well,i have already booked my red raptor and shel be home this wednesday.straight away i am changing the following-
1.ngk iridium plugs
2.bosch dual bass horns (helps to wake up zombies on our roads)
3.keiti carbon fibre tank guard.
4.was thinking of geting the visor tinted to lemon black(zma) or fiery orange,il see and decide.
5.im gonna rework the rear,bit by bit.first things that go on are embossed plates and reworked rear reflector.
6.once i study the electrical system,i plan to make led braking lights and turn lights ,it wil save the battery to some extent.
For sure,i shall post plenty of pictures.
I Want an advice from u guys on how best to run in my bike and how long,a little detail would be apreciated.thanks guys.

@Steve
2) Be careful where you mount the horns... mounting on the default horn mount would not be advisable as that's leading to radiator leakage.
3) Check in JC Road you'll get the same thing without the name for Rs 100. We have a Yellow ZMA here with a Rs 450 Keiti tank pad and a white Hayabusa with a Rs 100 similar tank pad... telling u after seeing them regularly!
4) Pls share with us how uou'd get them tinted
for run-in, just follow the manual.
@Biker_Boy, the disc pads adjust automatically and I don;t think that screw is for adjustment.
It is the screw that holds the calipers and the pads.
@Velocity, That's good news

You can get the tank guard&LED indicators from Yamaha itself.Originally posted by sveetvenom View Posthay guys,after months of following this post religiously,i decided to hell with waits and aprehensions,im gonna get myself the r15,well,i have already booked my red raptor and shel be home this wednesday.straight away i am changing the following-

As for running in, follow the manual instructions. They're simple enough-vary engine speed, no sudden speed bursts etc. I didn't cross 60 before 1000kms.

Help needed:Cummon guys somenone please reply!!!
Guys need help.The SS guys here have screwdup my baby! After the first service my bike was buttersmooth and awesum,no problems at all.After the second service the engine became very harsh ad there were hell lot of viberations and the gear shifting was so hard and clunky.I went back to the SS guys and changed my engine oil to Castrol Power1.While he was pouring out th 389km old yamalube oil from my bike the viscousity of theoil was all gone it had detoriated like a 4000km old EO(engine Oil)
. After topping up with Power1 all the vibes are almost gone and the bike is comparatively a lot smoother but still harsh than the !st serviced engine.And the gear box problem remains and has become even more clunky and feel like a enfield bullets gearsift.When i discussed this with the SS manager he said that they cannot open the Gearbox as they are not allowed to do so from the conpany

,so he said that he'll fix an appointment with the Yamaha Official engineer(U.P region) i need suggestions,Advice or help from u experienced guys.
PROBLEM NO.2:For the past few weeks my front tyre is loosing pressure from 28 to 19 psi in 1 and half week and its skidding like a Tvs tyre under a little hard breaking(u can't even call it hard breaking.).It was not like this before.And i don't trust these SS guys for this,so i haven't told them this.Any Advice plz...

Your engine oil loosing the viscosity has to do with overheating of the engine and the first thing that comes to my mind is the cooling system of the bike. This overheating results in vibrations and crappy gear shifts too. Make sure you get the cooling system checked (full checkup). After all its high-tech liquid cooling system. The official engineer might help you out.
I get my tires checked every 5-7 days and in that span I loose around 4psi. The tubeless tires runs well even if its punctured.
I hope the above info is of any help to you.
Goodluck!
