            • Ok the problem I was facing and had mentioned before is solved now. I went and checked the alignment of both the wheels. No issues they were perfect. Clueless, I called up our in-house doctor Santoosh. Immediately came the reply "Check fork. Its tight on one side. If its perfect check front alloy for bend". Checked with my mech and yes, the fork was as tight as possible with almost no play. He just loosened it a little and the wonderful handling is back

I also have a doubt. Sometimes we are forced to to tilt the R15 on its side stand as the center stand is not available(remove the tires or to check for certain things). I am afraid that it might bend or break. But I saw the mounting and it appears different compared to other bikes. It looks like its mounted directly on the chassis compared to other bikes where it is mounted as a separate welded accessory. Any ideas on this? Or is it bound to bend or break ? And last, has anyone got the main stand accessory from Yamaha yet from Chennai or Bangalore. Presently am using my car's jack to lift the R15.

                    • @Satyen, the GPS says

                      Speed (max): 123.1 km/h

What was the reading u saw on the speedo?

Here's one from the Sunday ride...

GPS Report - Top Speed: 126.1 KMPH - Distance: 10.2 KM
Speedo Read- Top Speed: 135 KMPH - DistanceL 10.1 KM

                      Scratch-your-brains stuff... eh?

Now, here's more to scratch, the same tracker was used for a P220 just after this and it reported a top speed of 250+ KMPH

I also was on 135 for a reasonable amount of time went on to 138 with some wind assistance, but that was only for a few seconds....
Whats the app that you use, and what kind of GPS Filtering are you on? I think the issue is more due to poor reception...

It is the built in app for the new 5800 phone we used. the N95 was not able to get any signal but the 5800 got it. WHen we tried the 5800 on a P220 we didn;t have good signal and hence the 250 KMPH reading

                          • ^ I would like to think that the GPS tracking was way off the mark.

I have done GPS speed checks myself . I remember that my N95 suggested I hit a top speed of only 75kph on the stretch where my speedo (RX 135 5s) was showing ~110kph. And to make matters worse, it showed me top speed as being close to 130 kph on a stretch where I was just nudging 100 on speedo.

I don't think GPS tracking on mobiles is reliable unless you are running the bike only on such roads where you have a clear view of the sky. Even then its error prone.

It actually depends on the consistency of the satellite lock your GPS device will get. As far as I know, GPS tracking devices in mobiles are accurate upto ten meters most of the times.
