  • @ Sarvajit: Thanks For The Input I Already Ridden My Friend's R15 For 1 day I Could not Find Diffuculty Riding In Coujusted Traffic But If I Own One How Can I Manage My Friend In Tight Traffic ? That's Why I Asked Before Buying

@ Surbhit: So It Is Manageble In Chennai Traffic Hmmm.......!
I Don't Think RTR 180 Will Help In City Driving Compared To R15 & RTR Fi

@ Satyen: Yes I like The RTR Fi Much Than R15 But It Has The Tech Like Bigger Bikes So Far My Big Bike Dream Is Postpond Due To Some Reason
So Like To Practice The Smaller Machine First

    This Goes Like RTR Fi 90% & R15 10%

In my case, I have been experiencing silencer farts-no particular scenario in which it occurs, so can't say exactly. Sometimes I don't hear it for days&sometimes I heard it 2-3 times on a single ride! Now that is puzzling!
For those who are going to reply to this, please don't say impure petrol, I used only Extra Premium right from day one.

Thats what they did to my bike and the problem is solved...
Yes, the pollution box is the solution but its not exactly coz of the dirt inside it. The pollution box is located just under the fuel tank. There are 2 plates inside it. Now 1 of them gets dislocated or bent after a long usage. All it has to be done is fit it properly. Thats all!

          • I haven't seen it but have a suggestion. Pls find R6 2007/08 model service manual in the Net. It has a detailed process. I had it with me but that PC is not working... else could have extracted that one or two pages for you.

I guess this method works as Yamaha would follow one system for their YZF series engines.

                  • @kashif.sayed: Really sorry to hear about your accident. I have given up all ideas of buying chain lube/spray for self use now.

@Jayan&Vibhanshu: Thanks for the input about the air induction box. I am going to get it checked today.
I have another small problem-I hear whistling sounds from the silencer area while accelarating too. It is very clearly audible when I'm near the divider, flyover etc. What could this be?
It is not the chain noise- I know that noise very well. I have a doubt it could be due to the same air induction box.

@All: Please give me your inputs, as I am heading to the SC this afternoon.

That is very sad to hear my friend. Hope the doctors do something and get your thumb to near normal condition.

This has happened even with Ajinkya (xbhp Mumbai).... around 4 months back... when he was cleaning his P220's chain.... and lost the top section of his right index finger, the docs could never reattach it.
                      Hope you recover soon.

Sorry to know that, but don’t worry, be brave enough, I have came across a Guy through BIKE India Mg who had lost one his leg in a accident, but he still ride his P220 with a single leg & with the confidence in heart. So make your mind prepare for that, you have to ride again buddy.

AND HERE IN XBHP WE KNOW BIKING IS THE POWER OF OUR LIVING.

My request to all of you never clean or lube ur chain with the engine running.

What happened to you is very bad and is saddening. I can't say anything more than 'wishing you a speedy recovery & still go strong with your passion for biking'.

I clean & lube the chain by rotating the wheel with my hand to the required amount. This method is working good for me as there is no danger of the wheel/sprocket rotating if the anything is stuck in the chain/sprocket! Gotta be extra careful guys.

I think it can be due to the pollution box itself. We'll find out today.

But I must say that R15 is really a delicate bike. Couple of days back I banged another bike as he took a sudden turn without indicating. I managed to slow down but did hit him. Luckily both of us did not fall or skid, no scratches. Next morning I find out that the bike is not properly balanced and some sound from the rear. Me and Sarvajit visited the SS yesterday to find out. Thankx Sarvajit for coming

                                1)Forks had some balancing/tuning problem.
2)The rear sprocket was making some other noise. The mech said that there are some rubber pieces attached there (donno what they are called), which has to be replaced.
3)The rear shock was making a lot of noise. It is supposed to be lubed. The mech said its due to riding in excessive rain. WTH!

Today me and Sarvajit are visiting the Pearl SS again. Will keep updated!
