  • Yep Santa. First ride felt good. Agreed for the handling toss cos of the saddles, but even on singles the front feels the same only. Have to get it checked this weekend. For the taillamp - Only 10/5 is available? No 15/5 or something for other bikes? Ok let me see. Thanks for the heads-up on coolant.

        • Any Reviews on Yamalube Semi-Sunthetic on R15, I have it on my R15 but haven used my bike as I am out of station.!!!

Next, There has been a niggling though in my mind since many days. How about CBZ Xtreme's Rear LED's on R15? So just wanted to make sure the electrical setups of R15 and Xtreme before going for that. Since the shape of thier tail lamps is SORT OF SIMILAR.

          • @ketan_r15: You can go for 120 section for the rear without issues. IRC soft is best suited.
Please don't put the rear tyre in front-the central groove is a must for any front tyre, which the rear will not have. It can be dangerous.

I didn't feel so much difference in handling with the saddle bags on. But the cone set issue is a tough nut.

If you manage to get a lower powered tail lamp - 10/5 W.. pls let me know the brand and specifics... I have already got a LED strip at my reat that glows when I brake... so no issues if I lower the brake lamp wattage.

I have noticed that after every long ride (say a 1000 KM or more) I need to topup the coolant with 100-150 ML. Keeping in mind that the total coolant replacement quantity is 1.2L and that this 100-150 ML goes into the reservoir, I guess we are still very safe... but better topup when you can.

              • Yeah KP. Not only is the cone set a tough nut, these buggers do not know how to set it. And a minor misalignment magnifies itself a tad too much on this bike.

LED strip for braking? Where did u get that and Cost? I would like to have that too and plonk in a 10W for the rear. Pls do shed some light on the same.

I will get the radiator level checked this weekend.

                  See the photos:

Got that strip from the market, cut it by about 1.5" to fit the size and then stuck it on. Just pushed the wires into brake light socket under the sear (no cutting or taping.) The wires got loose twice so far and I just pushed them back in... I think I bought it for Rs 180 - yes, should have got it for lesser but realized only after I bought it.

My purpose was to have some extra light so that it is clearly visible to the vehicle behind me when I brake. R15 is a low bike and the tail lamp is more towards the ground than facing the rear... We drive with pilot lamps or sometimes headlamps on during day time too... when I brake, it is difficult for the vehicle behind me to identify the difference in intensity of the tail lamp in sun light... I had cars, jeeps, SUV's and busses coming on even after I apply brakes... but this LED strip helps.

The installation sounds easy. Do you have any idea if there is an LED available that can blink, with interval ? Thankx
