    • @digislayer:I need your help. I will call you in a day or two. You need to tell me about that manifold engine nut. I have a feeling mine is vibrating, or else maybe the tappets are loose. Btw, could you get the tool to open up the sprocket the other day?

How does a faulty sprocket explain the wobble problem? Did you get a satisfactory explanation? Pls share with us...

Yes, R15 with K&N sounds like a Fartbox. Not sure if anything else changes... Even with an Iridium plug. But yes, that guy does have a very creatively technical mind.
My speedo cable was detached by the SVC for ensuring it remains sub 100KMs for registeration

The faulty sprocket has a slight wobble when it reaches 120KMPH... so apparently the wobble exists all throughout, but becomes evident post 120KMPH...

The bike with golden rims is the same (i guess) which I saw at Pearl. Its true that its looks awful in real.

The throttle increases but engine doesnt survives in a long run. As told by a mech: He himself fitted a K&N (1060) into an R15 and later the owner wanted to remove it as the engine became rough. Then when he removed it, the engine sound never came back to normal.

          EDIT:
I remember a guy posting that he was using "Foam Filters" for R15. I guess UniFoam. These filters are used in Dirt Bikes, mostly off roading where there is a lot of dust. He mentioned that he was getting a great performance+FE. But he never posted the results in long run.
Thats enough details to scare me from doing anything

                    • How to Speed up?

                      Hello,

My R15 has done 3000 Kms ... and the max speed I have touched is 105kmph... How do i achieve 130-140 speeds ..?

Do I need to do some tuning to the bike ? ..Please advice..!
Is there a peculiar way of shifting gears at different RPMS ? ,... If so, what is that funda ?

PS: This might sound a stupid question , but R15 is my first bike... and I am still learning the nuances..

Shift the gears at 9K-10K RPM. Be careful though, R15 generates some good power at those range of RPMs. If you are not used to high speed riding then stick to 7-8K RPM or lower and then increase gradually.

                        Ride safe!

No tuning required. Go to some empty stretch and shift each gear at 10K RPM by the time you shift from 4th to 5 th you will be above 115 kmphr for sure..

                            • Issues in my R15

Nowadays the chain is making soo much noise. I have properly cleaned, lubed it, but still to no avail. The slack is also proper. Gotta check it at the service center this weekend.

Meanwhile, my issue does not look like its completely resolved. The bike feels stable at high speeds, but at low speeds(<40) it keeps shifting from left to right. Taking corners the bike feels like it has a bent rim. What surprises me is that there are no issues at higher speeds. Moreover the fork cone setting is very loose. Going over potholes or bumps, I get a metal-hitting-metal sound. Have sent another mail to Mr. Ramkumar, regional Business Head about this. Lets see what the outcome is. This is just so frustrating!!!!

Apar would suggest check the front sprocket.I had the same issue when i checked the front sprocket 4 teeths were bent. That to this happend when i was on a ride outside bangy. Then hunted for a sprocket and the discover 135 front was a perfect match changed the front sprocket and my problem was solved. done 2k kms with the disco front sprocket and no issues till now.

Sad to hear your issues man. Are the yamaha service guys co-operating ?
