Can you please share the experience in the change of performance

      • @ IAmJaguarPaw- Looks like a proper mini-sportsbike now, but perf and efficiency must have gone for a toss...

Anyways, please post some daytime pictures and be sure to include the full bike in the photo.

@ Hydbiker (or should I say KP )- any change in perf with just the iridium plug? Because I was thinking of putting that soon (bike's done 5670kms).
        You get the point?? :D

        • Guys today I changed to spitfire cable + NGK Iridium spark plug. There is little difference in the way engine responds but it is not as was suggested by some people. Total cost was 550Rs for Iridium spark plug , 380Rs for spitfire cable and 50Rs labour.
One important thing - the guy tried hard but was not able to remove the original cable so he shortened the spitfire cable and connected it to the older cable . Will this affect performance of spitfire cable?

What I get from your post is that the stock cable is cut and joined with the spit fire cable, AFAIK then it so it's not going to make any difference putting the spitfire cable as the current is passing from the stock cable and then comming to Spitfire cable.

Tough to find minor improvements (if any) on a new, free & high revving, fuel injected & a smooth engine like the R15 . I guess it has given me a slightly better throttle response at Higher RPM's... but then a handful of stuff was set right at that service... so, cannot comment.

My Victor see's a world of difference with the GPower (Platinum) plugs itself.

That is what I told here yesterday and precisely is the reason why I didn't consider spit fire cables.

To my knowledge, what makes a spitfire cable set better is their very low resistance. A very low resistance can transfer power to the plug more efficiently without much loss and a plug that needs much lower ignition voltage (like the Iridium) along with this does help to an extent. So, may be unless the cable is directly coming from the High Voltage Transformer I guess you are not going to get full benefit.

As such, please report on your experience once you clock 2-3K KMs.

The main reasons for me picking up the Iridium plug are:
              1) The cost I got it for. Else was about to buy GPower.
              2) no misfiring at high RPM's and a constantly steady spark plus design to spread the flame more efficiently. The misfiring thing I saw a physical demo and am convinced fully.
              3) Longer life

I have never heard any Yam official claiming off. top speed.

I have reached 139 (speedo reading) given I am 74 Kgs. of wt.. One guy over here (forgot his name since i had stopped posting in this thread for ages) has gone up to 148. His video link is also there in You tube.

I never had a chance to do a speed test. But on city roads I clocked 132kmph (in a short curvy road), after which the road ended otherwise the bike wanted more. For Hyderabad guys: It was Necklace Road

                            • is semi synthetic ok at 1000 kms?????

for the experienced riders here ,..i have a query,is it advisable to switch to semi synthetic oil right after 1st service ,ie at 1000kms,i have switched and somehow after a day of thorough thrashing (speeds at 135+ at 9.5k rpms) ,i feel the bike although very responsive and very smooth at low end-mid end is lacking top end grunt, fyi i also use ngk iridiums.

After just 1st service can be an early shift. Reason being, aftet 1st service the engine starts opening up as the revving limit goes high (7.5). Once the engine is opened up properly you can switch to semi synth. Waiting till 2nd service is good I think. Although even this depends, if a rider does not prefer ripping and has always used his bike at low RPMs then for him 2nd service is also early rather he would never need a semi synth. If you've done just 1 service, obviously you cannot afford to rip it all the time. Occasional bursts are ok though. I am sure you'll find the real fun when you rip the bike at high RPMs after your 2nd service.

                                Hopes this helps. Ride safe!
