  • when i last checked about the bike it was told to me that the limited edition had waiting period of 15- 20 days and was a couple of grands dearer than the other colours.

The white on the bike surely luks nice but the obscure red somehow spoils it for me and the white alloys kinda spoil it further as they make the already " skinny" tyres look skinnier.

A few days back i saw a white r15 however it was black and white as in the black had substituted the red of the limited edition, donno if it was an aftermarket paintjob or is this color now available. Would love to have this colour if its officially available
    respect ma authoritae!!

Seems like the LE R15 has been discontinued. It was actually produced in limited numbers, & had a long waiting period about 6 months ago!!
Moreover, its no longer listed on Yamaha's website (Products | India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd.).
BTW, white rims will be a pain to maintain.

@anhil8tr: The black+white you saw must be a custom paintjob/sticker job. I have seen one here too, & it looked nice. Yamaha hasn't launched one yet though.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

      • Greetings all R15 addicts, my friend recently booked Yamaha R15 at a showroom here in Bangalore - Orion Motors, opp. Forum Mall. Anyone have any experiences with them?

The delivery of the bike is expected around Sept. 20, any advice on what and all we should check before we accept the delivery of the bike? Both me and my friend don't own a bike yet, so it would be good if you guys advice us so we don't get cheated etc....

My friend actually wanted to get the special edition white and red R15, but they were produced in limited quantities and are now sold out. Now he is getting the black R15.

          • Hay Guys,I am having a bitter-sweet experience with my beloved right now, one one hand the engine performance and delivery is absolutely superb, the bike just flies through, on the other hand no matter how much i try to explain to the service center, who i am getting a feeling are wantonly neglecting the issue, my gearshift is hard, especially in the lower rpm ranges and during upshifting, i tried all variations of clutch cable slackness, but no result, i require some serious help here guys, what do i do?, if any fellow R15 rider in Bangalore can have a look at my bike this weekend, it would be great...thanks guys!

            • I've just started touring on my R15 and I'm doing short trips at the moment.. Started with 80KM as the 1st one.. Then a 110 KM as the 2nd one and a 350 KM as the 3rd and recent one..
I had no problems in the 1st 2 trips but the 3rd one.. I had alot of backpain for 2 days.. and a bit pain in my neck.. I did take a few short breaks in between but still I had to go through back and neck pain.. .

Can you guys give some tips on how to avoid such pain while touring on r15 on long trips
Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead.

Its a common problem faced by most of the R15 riders, may be because its more suitable for tracks rather than touring...
The best way to minimize the pain is to sit on the saddle and gripping the tank with your thighs rather than giving more stress on your wrists and keep the shoulders straight.

same problem I faced first time and learned some lesson from experienced riders..
                      1. Ride with straight back in lonely highways just putting your hand on throttle. You should always ride with relax and for that you gotta manage your whole stretch.
                      2. Time to time do movement of your limbs.
                      3. Avoid putting heavy back packs.
                      4. Try not to transform the thrust to your shoulders. You can do that by putting less weight to handle bar.
Please use all possible safety measures while riding and remember others also riding on the same road...

Please find the attached picture for more clarification.

remember your sitting position in first 2 trips and get back to it.... if you still cant able to find out get back to basics. while commuting in city see the body posture which doesnt give you any pain and then try to get into that habit. if you have any back problem then you need to see the doctor for it. All the Best.

Wow that is a news to me... though being an R15er I didnt have any discomfort, except for the first 3 days after buying the bike
