If you get any made in Singapore front break pads anywhere let me know man i want to get them .
I don't want to pait till the parts arrive in Bangalore, is why I'm seeking help from non-Bangalore members man.

I might go to JC Road over the weekend. Will let you know if I come across "Made In Singapore" ones. are these from Yamaha itself? Or aftermarket?

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

They also added another Amaron battery in parallel connection to the stock battery, so no battery problems I must say, Yamaha truly did a wonderful job with the R15.
wow,..thats pretty neat mate, where did you shove the extra battery?,..can you please post a picture to clarify.Thanks.

In this regard, I really need new front brake pads for my R15. My bike's pads are worn out, & I need to get them replaced ASAP. I want the lower priced brake pads as it will work out to saving of over INR 300.
Is there anyone who can help me by couriering the part to Bangalore?
I don't want to wait for a month, for the parts to arrive here.

IIRC, the lower priced brake pads are avilable in Kolkata, Hyderabad (& .....) .
That's really frustrating buddy! Anyways.. does anyone know.. what's the new and revised price of Rear leather brake pad, my worn out in 10 months... too soon right!
Also check the disc, it has some kind of circular ring all over it.. some roughness with even lines can be felt when touched with fingers...
I am doubting the culprit of my brake pad being worn out so soon. Coz I mostly use front brakes and just tap the rear one... my front disc pad can still last for a good year (going by the width of its size)
Please reply with what needs to be done and also the current new price of Rear Brake pad...

                • Man I doomed.
My bike parked at ground floor of my apartment on my garage. Neighbor's car just hit with back gear and bike knocked down. It's become totally disaster. Body Front upper, cover side 3, cover 7, Panel comp 1, Clutch lever, Rear View Mirror (left) all have broken/get scratched. Most shocking news that Yamaha's dealer hasn't the vivid red color's parts here in Bangladesh and there is no possibility to have within 4 months. I just got the bike for 12 days.

                          What is leather brake pads?

Light grooves are normal, & are a result of braking.

Brake pad wear and tear does not depend on how much time you've used them for. It depends of the the distance. How much have you clocked on them in 10 months? Moreover, it depends on the braking style as well.

                          Prices (INR):
Front brake pads: Old price Rs.685, New price Rs.390.
Rear brake pads: Old price Rs.1115, New price Rs.690

                          • My new R15

                            Hi Guys,

Just got my soul-mate today. I really love it . Cant express in words about the feeling when I ride it.

I have been following this thread from the last 2 months as I wanted to be rock sure what I am investing that money in. Believe me, on my ride back home, I wasn't disappointed at all.

Thank you all for the information on the bike as it helped a lot in choosing this (Although I had made my mind when the bike was launched itself & despite all the problems that you guys face or faced )

Have few doubts in mind. Would be more than happy if anybody can help me on the following.

                            1. Whats the battery that comes with the new ones (Tata Green or Minda)? Can a new owner confirm this please?
                            2. I noted some rust already on the chain, What do I need to get rid of it or is it normal?

Well, truly speaking, I am not at all happy with Ambal Motors, Chennai as they dint even wash the bike before delivery and handed me over the MUDDY bike (not dirty). I know its a small thing but IMO it counts.

Thank you all again for posts.

                            Will post some pics soon.

I bought mine in May and the bike was having Minda...As I know the owner, without saying anything to him, he got it replaced with Tata Green..The bike standing next to mine was a red one and he took the Tata Green from it and placed it in mine and mine in it....And I think that Tata Green is better than Minda....

                              • Issues with quality of R15 spare parts

                                Hi guys!

I just had a word with the Marketing incharge of Yamaha, & voiced my concerns regarding non-availability of lower priced spare parts (in Bangalore) & low quality of newer parts (as reported by some of you here).

The concerned person was of the opinion that he wasn't aware of the quality issues w.r.t the newer parts (like brake pads) as he hasn't yet received any complaints regarding the same.
I would urge you guys to drop him a mail regarding the issue(s) you've faced at the id [email protected] , so that our complaints can be looked into.

You can also drop a mail at the above ID for any spare parts related issues(s) w.r.t the R15 & FZ (not sure about other bikes).
