It's called the paddock stand. Although some less fancy people call it the racing stand.Originally posted by ZeNashB View PostHey, what is that stand called? THe one holding the bike up with model in the pics above? I saw one at the Yamaha SCV and asked about it, they said its not for sale
I could definitely use one as it will help a lot with repairs/mods/chain spray and long storage..... any ideas?
It is listed as a yamaha accesory and is priced at 1.5k or 2k (I dont seem to recall sorry)

Congrats bro! Awesome color! R15 = pure excellence. One can only love this beastOriginally posted by veyron999 View Postsome pics of my new bike(not so new now- a month and a half, 1600 on the odo)
Its listed as an accessory? Why the hell did the SVC refuse to sell one to me? 2k is a reasonable price....Originally posted by Parth View PostIt's called the paddock stand. Although some less fancy people call it the racing stand.

Better go for a Main stand guys.. There is a main stand for R15. We can use it as temp or fixed one. we discussed about this earlier.Originally posted by ZeNashB View PostCongrats bro! Awesome color! R15 = pure excellence. One can only love this beast

we can also just fix it when ever we want. then we can remove, For that we have to purchase Main stand and the shaft.
About the paddock stand... you cant do anything to front wheel if you use a Paddock. Clear?
The main stand is economic too. Price is 546 and shaft is 56.. Ok?If you need a reason to ride, you are not on the right bike.

sowieNot only that. The paddock stand is very unstable too..one slight push, and the bike'll fall flat on the ground. It's not recommended for long time storage or unattended parking.Originally posted by ezy_rider View Post

Things to look after a ride
I wanted to know about things I need to take care for my bike after a long ride . That is , after a ride of 400+ kms which all parts of R15 need review . Normally , I follow following thing -
1) Wash and wax ,
2) Chain lube - (Kerosene clean --> Motul chain clean --> Motul Chani lube)
3) Check for bent rims ,
4) Air pressure , reset to correct Psi
5) Front and rear disc pads , Whether they are touching the disc plate,
6) Normal electricals
Suggestions.

A correction of my words, it's too unstable for "unattended PUBLIC parking" I meant to say..there're members here who've been through such fallen-bike experiences..
I think you're thinking too much.. 400kms isn't so much. Check for bent rims only when you've gone through huge, sharp pot holes. Clean+lube chain only if you think the chain needs it, after inspecting visually. Air pressure usually doesn't change for such a ride, but checking for punctures is a good thing to do. Check disc pads only if there's something wrong with your pads from before itself, like uneven wear or already worne pads, etc.Originally posted by Juris View PostI wanted to know about things I need to take care for my bike after a long ride . Otherwise, just enjoy the ride and the bike!

I'm glad, you changed your Decision!Originally posted by ZeNashB View PostOh my, I never thought of all that. Actually, what happened was, I was riding on this really awesome road that goes up a hill. Its got lots of great curves and corners. It had previously rained and the road had traces of water on it... around one corner, I bent the bike to the point where the footpegs were a cm or two away. I do corner with body weight shifting etc etc.... at one point, the rear wheel just spun faster and the RPM suddenly rose high, indicating slip... before the bike could fall, I reduced throttle and straightened out... but was really shaken.... so, I decided maybe a fatter tire. I know the current compund is awesome but wet weather kills it. Anyway, I've decided against a tire change now, instead, wont corner hard on wet roads
Thank you guys for the valuable advices

And You can corner on Wet too!
Knee downs have been executed on wet too with this Stock Tire. Make sure, it's proper Tarmac and not concrete!
Be safe!
All the Best!
