    • Don't like the pace at which the thread is moving, nor some of the contents.

@hardcorebiker--what do you think, we don't lust after I-4's sound and don't want it and if we knew the secret/any which way, we wouldn't adopt it?

Okay, the cost for the sound will be ~14,00,000.

      EDIT--
Honest review Abhijeet, the brakes of an R15 vs RTR? Well, I haven't rode an RTR with good set of tires, but R15's feel and 'progression' is unmatched.

                  • @free2rock - not very good at reading posts are you? I replied saying that use semi synth, the 415 oil. Since it lasts better in the r15 and is needed for high rpm operation. Also when changing type of oil, very important to change oil filter
                    as well .

Rs. 415/- Yamalube SS oil, lasts 2500 km or even more, depending on how you ride. Its a good oil, but not the best though (given its pricing)

Next time if you can, be there when the service technician puts the oil. Best thing to do is to take the service center's number, call them and ask when they are going to work on your bike. Just pay a visit then.

Most importantly ... dont piss off the mechanics with too many questions

                      • Run-in Query

My r15 has run 500 km on Yamalube Mineral Oil.

I know its recommended that the bike be run under 4k RPM till the first service for engine & other mechanical parts to set in properly. But while driving, if i shift at 3.5-4k RPM, the shift is sluggish and the bike struggles a TAD bit to push - the high gear low raise/RPM thing.

So i've started shifting at 4.5-5k RPM. I've not crossed even 75 on the bike. But a do a regular 60-65 kph.

Is it safe ? could i be harming my bike w.r.t the run in ...?

My friend want to buy R15 from here in mumbai. The showroom guys are saying waiting period of about 3 months & my friend want it in 3-5 days after booking.he don't have enough patience. Also he is ready to shell out more money than the on road price for such urgency.Black colour is available here. But he wants it in RED colour only.So where shall he get urgent delivery in Mumbai. Please tell the names of the showrroms where it can be readily available. Thanks in advance.
When I bought my red R15 in Feb 2010 from Patny motors, hyderabad. I paid the cash on the spot and walked away with the bike in an hour.I think the problem is in having our choice of color and end up waiting for it.Instead of waiting for a Red R15 for 3 months in Mumbai.
Just come over to hyderabad for 2 days and take delivery of a red R15. I am pretty sure you will get it easily here in Hyderabad.

                          Hyderabad guys, your suggestions.
Yes, I have seen GOD. He wears the no. 46 and rides a Yamaha errr Ducati :)

                          • You can even do 6K occasionally, but thats it.

Shift around 5. If riding on high-way 'vary' your rpm.

Its a good idea to change your engine oil frequently while running-in.

I have always stuck to 40/140/400 for oil-change intervals. Though R15 negates it because of the construction of its cylinder.

Service it at 1000, change oil (mineral till 2nd service, I was a fool & over-joyed and changed to semi from 40kms itself) 'along' with filter.

                            • So you're saying putting in Yamalube SS before 2nd Service (3k kms) is a bad idea ?

so you mean my first and second servicing should use the mineral oil only and after second servicing i should go for fully synthetic with a change of oil filter right, no need to change oil filter prior to that.

Am i understanding right or is something missing?
