oil filter change every 10k kms? isnt that a bit late?Originally posted by Bean View PostNope no need to change filter in second service ,change it at every 10k kms
i change oil filter on 2 conditions :
1) changing type of oil
2) every 2 oil changes(that is every 2000kms, since i always changes oil on 1000kms)

agreed...Originally posted by tharikiran View Postwhen i bought my red r15 in feb 2010 from patny motors, hyderabad. I paid the cash on the spot and walked away with the bike in an hour.i think the problem is in having our choice of color and end up waiting for it.instead of waiting for a red r15 for 3 months in mumbai.
Just come over to hyderabad for 2 days and take delivery of a red r15. I am pretty sure you will get it easily here in hyderabad.
Hyderabad guys, your suggestions.
Fun begins only after 6K rpm.....!

Yes, when the engine is new, it will be good idea to use mineral as it will help the engine bed-in proper.Originally posted by shrinathrao View Postso you mean my first and second servicing should use the mineral oil only and after second servicing i should go for fully synthetic with a change of oil filter right, no need to change oil filter prior to that.
Am i understanding right or is something missing?
Don't rev too high during this, increase the speed progressively and don't keep it pinned for longer durations on high-ways.

^^ tell her its for a good power to weight ratio.. its your need for speed that keeps you slim, so you can tuck well behind that aerodynamic fairing, and reach some impressive speeds... hehe.

planning on getting a new bike. test drove the R15, P220 and ZMR. Man R15 handlebar is too low for comfort.. am mostly into touring not racing or anything. it felt so uncomfortable. felt hard to steer and it was like doing push ups on bike. will i get used to it or should i just go for P220?
people here said it would be a little uncomfortable and i will get used to it. but it was close to very uncomfortable. feel disappointed that i'm not confident in driving the bike !
Regardless, Life shall go on.

You will get used to it, but if you are into touring, you better go for the P220.Originally posted by yellowspunk View Postplanning on getting a new bike. test drove the R15, P220 and ZMR. Man i will tell you that R15 kicks 220's groin...Originally posted by yellowspunk View Postplanning on getting a new bike. test drove the R15, P220 and ZMR. I first heard that R15 seating position is too uncomfortable but later when i actually bought it I found that it wasnt that uncomfortable as some people potray..
1 or 2 days you will feel uncomfortable... Imagine a village girl wearing a skirt for the first time... Ofcourse she will feel uncomfortable but later you will love the position
220 is just another bike next door...Its good for touring but R15 isnt bad...it rocks in all the aspects..
