i have also same issue..whenver i slowdown (around15kmph)1st gear is required(sometimes) ..but plz check the chain and clutch lever adjustmentOriginally posted by freakzil View PostI have a 09 model R15 which is now a year old but its the same lot with engine no. starting from 20P1.. my fren recently brought his R15 which is some B1~B2 kind just 2 months old now. He offered me to ride his babe as he assumed it had some problem with pick up and other issues.
The clutch shift was entirely smoother (reason its new, mine clutch wire needs to be replaced, its jammed and hard to pull). I found his bike had an issue with pick up. It was resisting not to pull. And, crossing 80 was not that easy and the bike was always on a tardy zone.
Compare to mine, which is much smoother on higher RPMs and it reaches 100kmph in no time and with no issue. May be his bike is just 1200kms old so i am doubting the culprit.
One common issue that was seen in both bikes (not sure if you all face the same issue or not). Follow this steps:
Shift to first when you are grounded (zero). Accelerate but quickly change to 2nd while u are running around 10kmph. Now try to accelerate, the bike gives a lot of jerks compared to other bikes. Also, while riding on cities when traffic is slow (not halt) I often have to shift to 1st gear coz it really struggles to pull in 2nd gear. In order to pull it in that scenario, I have to take half clutch and accelerate and increase the rpm to 4k band and then leave the clutch. The bike feels like its loosing power and about to die while accelerating... I have to take half clutch too often...
What sort of problem am facing?? A trusted mechanic told that it's an issue of clutch bell which is common on all R15's... Members plz throw some light...

@All: Has anyone posted a DIY on headlight beam adjustment? I know its there in the manual, but someone was saying something about trying it on a wall-what distance from?
I was coming back from Bangalore last night&the highbeam was focusing on the distance boards rather than on the road!

The thing is, it's too sensitive to the payload. The beam angle changes drastically if you have a pillion or luggage. Maybe the only solution in such touring situations is to adjust it just before you leave, with the bike fully loaded..Originally posted by Sarvajit View Post@All: Has anyone posted a DIY on headlight beam adjustment? The chain is ok and its well lubed... I corrected the clutch lever adjustment and its almost at the last point... almost minimal free play... But still bike behave improperly.... Seriously not loving what's going on...Originally posted by raman sriharsha View Posti have also same issue..whenver i slowdown (around15kmph)1st gear is required(sometimes) ..but plz check the chain and clutch lever adjustment
Thanks for the reply raman... So, is your bike ok now???----------------------------------------------------

I had no pillion-I was touring alone&I had a backpack which was not even tied to the seat.Originally posted by digislayer View PostThe thing is, it's too sensitive to the payload. Any ideas on how to set it exactly?Quench my thirst with gasoline!

@freakzil - the difference is in the manufacturing of the engines. the first lot came imported from indonesia. whereas the current ones are made here.
The difference? The first lot engines are smoother, free revving. But have the clutch noise in em.
The new ones have the clutch noise fixed, but for some reason dont have the free revving nature of the older ones.

Hmm... yeah.. that may be the case here... mine is the 20P1 module... But sadly, am not liking my clutch-declutching behavior.. thanks for the input though....Originally posted by jd666 View Post@freakzil - the difference is in the manufacturing of the engines. the first lot came imported from indonesia. whereas the current ones are made here.
